Impressive. He had so much talent, and without any doubt he made the utmost of it. Dedicated every ounce to the game. And through 21 seasons, he managed to stay true to himself.

To everyone enjoying this and at least finding Dirk‘s story interesting – read “the Great Nowitzki“. It‘s fun, nostalgic and brilliantly narrated. Such a deep story with a lot of the magic between Dirk and Holger in it.

After game 1 2011 finals I felt so sick. I thought, no way we knock out the lakers only to run into this juggernaut. Then the 4th quarter comeback game 2 was such an amazing feeling, from the lowest of lows to 1-1 headed back to Dallas.

Dirk’s 1 championship ring is more impressive than LeBron’s 3 that he won after creating super teams

Changed the game, was the first to beat a super team while being the only star on his team, and is the Best Euro of ALL time. Hall of Fame career right there.

If Dirk was younger right now it’d be like the 80s Celtics in Dallas. Bird, McHale, Parish———> Luka, Porzingis, Dirk.

Ernie is great. Knows his facts, is well prepared and talks from heart to heart. And actually lets people interviewed to talk without interrupting.

Awesome interview. Dirk got lots of European players over in the NBA. Dirk Nowitzki was really the first great European player to come along and make it big time in the NBA. Drazen Petrovic would have been the first had he not died, but Dirk put European basketball players on the Map in the NBA. I just felt like After Dirk came along in the NBA every team in the NBA had at least one European player on it. Before Dirk came along, that wasn’t the case. You had some European players in the NBA. Dirk was really the first big man to drain those 3’s with his patented “step back” jump shot. I wonder if Dirk drives a Ford-150. He comes across as a pick-up truck /Porsche guy to me, not a Ferrari guy.
