Worst referee ever. She had zero control. Vast majority of the decisions went against Brazil. The US coach claimed superior behavior, but never acknowledged that it’s quite easy to behave when the referee is making every decision in your favor.

I beg to differ. The ref squashed the antics. Brazil was frustrated because they weren’t able to outmuscle the US like in the first game. They didn’t keep their composure.

The USA Women’s team, looked like a U8 team, both days against Brazil, unfortunately it was horrible last game, I love My USA Women’s team, but they need to get getter for World Cup and learn Discipline. Give it up for the referee, she was amazing and her crew. we need more like them, not afraid to pull out those cards. Thank Refs.

On the contrary, the US was very disciplined. Their finishing should’ve been more clinical, but they kept their composure, and didn’t allow themselves to be outmuscled again.

IN TRUTH, from what I saw, it wasn’t the US team that beat the Brazilian team; it was the Brazilian team that gifted the victory to the US team by scoring an own goal.
TERRIBLE WOMEN’S FOOTBALL MATCH, everything happened except football !!!! I wasted my time watching this match.

Much, much better from the US! Good job by Hayes to start more physical players. They didn’t allow themselves to be outmuscled again. Also, great job by the ref to squash the antics. I think her 2nd yellow for Bia was unjustified, but she missed a 2nd for Gio fouling Yohannes, so it evened out.
US takeaways:
– Especially for someone so young, Wesley did a fantastic job anchoring the back line & filling Girma’s spot.
– Patterson should always start. She’s fast & physical, moves the ball up the sideline well, and creates opportunities.
– Clinical finishing still needs work. The only goal was a lucky deflection. It should’ve been at least 3-0.
– Moultrie should start more often. She’s a scrapper!
It was unlucky for Brazil to lose Dudinha. She’s a tough but clean player. Regardless, good job USWNT overall!

First of all, don’t act so innocent, it was Abby Wamback that ended Danilela’s professional career with a brutal foul, and she wasn’t even properly punished for it. Also, please retire Julie Foudy once and for all. She’s a relic that wouldn’t even sit on the bench in today’s football, for any team. Additionally, one of the dirtiest players herself

Brazilian here (and I formerly covered the USWNT for a news site in LA). I was impressed with the solid defensive adjustments Emma Hayes made to the US team from the first game to this one. Brazil on the other hand lacked solutions and creative plays. Also they played too much on emotion and the crowd, at times, seemed more like an extra pressure on the Brazilians. Great job by the USWNT to keep their cool most of the time (thanks to the leadership on and off the pitch) and this is a bad sign for Brazil because they’ll need to control themselves emotionally to deal with tough games at home next year. Oh, and regardless of anything, that poor ref was very unprepared to be in control of such a heated match.

Angelina, a player from Brazil, mentioned in an interview after the match some disrespectful players from the united states during the match, provoking and insulting the Brazilian players, right from the start of the match, for NO reason, out of nowhere, constructing a despicable narrative that Brazilian women “don’t know how to play football” – where did the XENOPHOBIA from the north americans come from? Who are these arrogant people (some north american players) to say who knows or not knows how to play football? ABSURD!!!

USA played well. However, with four Brazilian players sent off and four members of the coaching staff also receiving red cards, it certainly made it easier for the United States to win the game.

The first red for a player came in the 94th minute way past the only goal had been scored. And two of the red card players were sent off after the final whistle had already blown. Your “Made it easier” makes no sense.
