I love watching Ben play because he shows what the NBA once was (and where it could have gone) before it was ruined by the three-point line, or rather the reliance on it. The strategy of the game, those incredible looks and executed passes, those creative lay-ups and finishes around the rim, those smooth hook shots, the concept of waiting for the player with the open look. Then the defensive end, locking down the opponent, the timing, anticipating, closing the passing lanes, causing turnovers, boxing out for the rebound. He does all of these things so well. Unfortunately the modern fan doesn’t seem to care about these aspects of the game.

BEN PLAYS BETTER WITHOUT JOEL EMBID BUT EMBID IS NEEDED TO SAVE THE PAINT. WITH JOEL PHILLY LEADS THE GAME EARLY. WITHOUT JOEL IT KEEPS HEAD TO HEAD.

They play better without Embid. Been saying it since they went 18 straight at the end of his rookie year when Joel was out. Kid is amazing.

ben simmons is a paint beast but embiid is always clogging up the paint asking for posts ups which always getting double teamed.

James Harden shot 1 for 17 3 pointers against Thunder. I’m sure that was special to watch. So many fans obsessing about 3 pointers. For me it’s a negative development in the last 15yrs.Enjoy Simmons for what he is and try and see his skill in all the other areas of the game.

Imagine Simmons and Doncic in same team with Draymond and Jokic front court…that ball IQ and ball movement would be unbelievable.

Not to take anything away from Simmons, it was an impressive display, but doesn’t the Nets’ defence look static as f? Only Allen is moving on D.
