Paul Pierce reacts to Bradley Beal’s comments on The Woj Pod | The Jump

Published

on

Rachel Nichols, Brian Windhorst and Paul Pierce head to “Crunch Time,” reacting to Bradley Beal saying on The Woj Pod that he thought Pierce hated everyone when he joined the Washington Wizards, and talking about Orlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz scoring 20 points vs. the Washington Wizards. They then (2:10) discuss Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young admitting he’s annoyed by the constant talk about Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic, and finally (4:16) Chris Paul saying the trade from the Houston Rockets to the Oklahoma City Thunder shocked him.

The Luka/Trae Young stuff is so stupid. Trae Young was NEVER a 1st overall draft consideration. He fought his way into the top half of the 1st round, and then as he struggled in conference play for OU that year, he mellowed out into somewhere between 5th to 10th overall pick. Trae Young has well exceeded those expectations. There were many who thought he wouldn’t last in the NBA. Not big enough. Couldn’t play D. Couldn’t handle the speed of the game or the physicality. What does Trae Young have to feel bad about? An OVERWHELMING success for the young man.

Luka is a different conversation, completely. Anyone who tries to tie those 2 together is just brain-dead. It’s sloppy, lazy reporting. Might as well start comparing Giannis Antekonounmpo to Aaron Rodgers. Or why not, start comparing Steph Curry and Drake? I mean, Jesus Christ! It’s just so fucking stupid.

I don’t put luka and trae together. Media does it for the narrative. 2 totally different players , with two different destinies. Both are young stars and have incredible careers ahead of them. Both organizations made good decisions
