There’s so much about these Spurs that reminds me of the Celtics in the Jays era, before they lost in the Finals – the happiness, the emotion, the energy they cultivate. Boston got real close a couple times, and realized they needed to get more professional, and it has cost the team some of its spirit – I wonder if Wembanyama’s incredible impact puts the Spurs over the top without having the sacrifice the joy of playing. Teams that can play loose when the chips are down are dangerous, and it looks, right now, like the Spurs are one of those teams. Crazy to think how much of this core will be around for awhile.
