This is the Cavaliers’ first playoff win without LeBron James since 4/27/98 when they won Game 3 against the Pacers in the 1st round.

Who cares… LeBron played over 11 years with the Cavs. The Saturday game of NY was first win and leading a series in 7 years.

@Vision World You clearly care, moron. And here’s a newsflash for you: Outside of New York, nobody cares about the Knicks and their historic purgatory. It’s funny how you bring up a win in Game 1 for the Knicks which is their first series-opening road win since 5/30/99 AFTER they stomped in Game 2 by the Cavaliers. Loser. 🤡

Cleveland you needed this win badly. There was no way you would have survived going down 0-2 heading to MSG. But hey, as long as you steal either Game 3 or 4 you’ll be fine just saying.

      April 18, 2023 at 10:22 pm

The Cavs kicked their ass. It wasn’t close like the last game, you’re acting like we needed this like the Knicks needed the first game. Knick’s fans are unnecessarily arrogant like they have something up on the Cavs that’s f****** hilarious😂

    • Michael Hession

      April 18, 2023 at 10:26 pm

@Nicole G True, but considering that the Cavs have been mediocre on the road this year in comparison to their record at home it’s a huge win.

    • HomeDefender30

      April 18, 2023 at 10:41 pm

As a cavs fan, of course we weren’t coming back from 0-2 at HOME….we are too young and it would have broke this team if that had happened (if we are on the road it’s a different story).

That first game was all nerves though from a young team getting its first real postseason taste. I think we take game 3 Friday and then the rest of the series is just to see how many games it takes to finish them off.

Series is tied, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I usually don’t bash refs; however, I do yell at them, but this was lopsided officiated, touch fouls on the Knicks players and Cavs players were literally tackling the Knicks and no calls. We all saw it, just a fan’s take.

Congrats to Cavs fans on this win. Garland came to play and the Knicks had no answers to the Cavs swarming Defense. However, this was a must win for the Cavs, so it was kind of expected they would come out hard and my take (from a Knicks fan’s perspective) I wouldn’t have expect the Cavs to roll over if they went down 2-0, so winning at least one at home statistically keeps the Knicks in favor of winning the series because if the Knicks won today and went up 2-0, that would have meant that the Cavs win game 3 for sure and push the home court advantage back to Cleveland, because the Knicks were’t sweeping the Cavs or vice versa. I feel that was safe to say because most fans had this series going to 6 or most likely 7. I said Knicks in 5 and will still stick to that. Underrated series so far.

Mitchell’s playmaking stood out to me. A lot of people were accusing him of ball hogging in Game 1 (even though he was keeping his team in the game, although he does do that at times). Tonight, focusing on getting his teammates going was important. Also, Mobley and Allen were terrific on the glass. 23 rebounds between them. LeVert gave them a big punch. Danny Green replacing Okoro was a smart move by J.B. Bickerstaff.
