The Boston Celtics improved to 4–5 on the season with a win over the Washington Wizards, who fell to 1–7.

Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with a dominant performance, scoring 35 points on 13-of-21 shooting while adding five rebounds and five assists. Josh Minott contributed 21 points on 8-of-12 from the field along with five rebounds, and Payton Pritchard chipped in 18 points and five assists. Neemias Queta also delivered a strong effort in the paint, finishing with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

For Washington, rookie Alex Sarr shined with 31 points, eight rebounds, and an efficient 4-of-5 from three-point range. Justin Champagnie added 12 points and five rebounds, while Marvin Bagley II recorded 11 points and five rebounds in the loss.
