Are you serious, wemby is literally more important to his team. Okc are a deeper than the spurs

Any answer other than ‘Wemby’ is blatant propaganda. And those who would support that answer except ‘Wemby’ immediately categorise themselves as casuals, illiterates, and OKC glazers.

Wemby. OKC is the deepest team in the league. Even without SGA they would be dangerous. Spurs without Wemby don’t make it out of the first round

There’s a difference between being called ‘The GREATEST’ and ‘The Most Complete’. And Wemby is arguably the greatest in the latter category right now, performatively. And all the logical projections imply that by the end of his career if he’s free of injuries, to even become the former category, literally. Argue against the wall and feel free to bash ur brains out disputing this fact.
The latter doesn’t require one to necessarily have chips/rings, but a legitimate output which makes almost every basketball fan, pundit, veteran, legend and icon of the sport ALONGSIDE even the casuals to admit how phenomenal the player is in every aspect.
Wemby has done that, has been doing that since he started playing seriously, and he’s gonna start averaging quadruple-doubles if he gets the right idea and locks in. His scoring is the most ridiculously unstoppable in the league while his defensive peak is THE greatest any player has ever set in league history, already a solid MVP candidate alongside 2 others while already being the first unanimous and simultaneously the youngest DPOY in the sport’s history. Only 41% of the shots the Spurs had to block were in the paint, the lowest ever observed in the league’s history, which is a defensive metric which isn’t usually measured conventionally but Wemby’s presence is so categorically dominant that it is forced into visibility. The complete opposite of the ‘offensive gravity’ Curry produces on opposing teams, is the ‘defensive repulsion’ Wemby passively exudes on the entire league.
• Several times said by other veterans to have the qualities of every name on the Top 10 GOAT list.
• Shaq the Ego finally had to give him his flowers and called the boy as ‘the first perfect big man ever created in the sport’s history’. Said that Wemby is so utterly complete, even if he tried to teach him something personally, it would be of no use. This is the highest praise Shaq has ever given to any big man since he became a pundit.
• Called many times by several known names of the sport separately, to be a hybrid specimen/blend of Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, KD, Kristaps, Giannis, Sampson, Hakeem, Walton, Yao…, you name it. Plus the most formidable attribute he has is the intellect, willingness and hunger to learn and adapt from his experienced seniors like Coach Pop, K.G, Hakeem and Jamal Crawford.
• Already called the greatest draft prospect of all time even before coming to the NBA because no one ever had a body like that but with all the necessary skills of all 5 positions embedded in a singular package THAT prolifically. And he over delivered on that by a dimension.
• LeBron called him a definitive ‘alien’, because he is so apart from all the prospects the league has seen so far that naming him as another ‘unicorn’ is a severe understatement of Wemby’s true abilities.
• Curry said Wemby is so absurd and beyond anyone, it’s like a ‘2K Create-A-Player’, with every skill, attribute and points added and maxed out in a single player.
• KD called him a ‘1-of-1’ category of talent, saying that many prospects had that tag attached to them even before they came, but Wemby is the only real recipient of that nickname. And it’s true because Wemby brought expectations arguably higher than LeChoke did, but he not just reached but SURPASSED ALL OF EM even before his rookie contract is over.
• Giannis, Jokic, Dame, Durant and LeBron, all 5 chuckled separately that they are glad he’ll be in his prime while they are already retired long ago from the game. Ant-Man in the playoffs was just bamboozled and humbly admitted on air that what Wemby does, sometimes it’s so much that only prayer helps the team 😂.
• Be it Jr Smith, Max Kellerman, Reggie Miller, Perkins, Steven A, Jay Williams, Dirk Nowitzki, Robert Horry, Kenny Smith, Lou Williams, Draymond, Nick Young, etc, all have gone on record and said that he has the strongest possibility of reaching the levels of Jordan, of any player right now. Even the harshest critics and finicky pundits have gradually jumped on the Wemby bandwagon.
• Hakeem had the highest praise for him, openly admitting that the alien will surpass his records and achievements. Sampson, the original unicorn, recognised the similarities between his youth and Wemby’s. Sir Charles has high praises for Wemby, saying that for big men if there was a draft class, Wemby would be the number 1 pick, even above Shaq, something Shaq notably didn’t dispute.
• 22 year old and he’s already the 4th player in league history to reach a statline of 35+ points, 15+ rebounds and 5+ blocks in the playoffs after only Kareem, Hakeem and Shaq did only once during their careers, but the former did at 70% higher shooting percentage.
• And he’s also the 3rd youngest player in league history after Kareem and Luka to get 25+ points, 15+ rebounds and 5+ assists in a playoff game.
• The ONLY rookie and Youngest player in league history to record a 5×5 stat line with 27 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks against the Lakers. Finished his first year as a rookie with at least 1500 points, 250 assists and 250 blocks – a rare air only Kareem, Hakeem and Robinson EVER managed to reach once in their careers. He came just one block and 2 assists shy of a quadruple double against the Nuggets in his first year.
• Only the second rookie to ever lead all NBA players in blocks per game in a season. Only Manute Bol had achieved it around 40 years ago. He was the statistical true choice for DPOY as a rookie, but Gobert edged him out due to the latter’s more consistent team success.
• Unanimous Rookie Of The Year and simultaneously the first rookie ever to be named to the All-Star Defensive Team. Arguably, the greatest rookie season in league history.
• Youngest player of the 24-11-3 club. First player to average 3-points and 3-blocks in a season. Is repeatedly called again and again as the
‘most complete 2-way player ever’, ‘most complete box-to-box player ever’, ‘greatest shot blocker ever’, ‘greatest defensive repulsion ever’ (polar opposite of Curry’s ‘offensive gravity’), ‘greatest help defender ever’, ‘greatest defender in the sport’s history’….so much it stops being surprising or stimulating anymore. And this is at him only being 22 years old.
• Single handedly revived the All-Star game, since LeChoke killed it last time playing against Kobe.
• Hilariously mogged the 3 best defenders of the era in Draymond, Davis and Gobert repeatedly, like he’s a grown man messing with elementary school kids without even breaking a sweat.
• In the Western Conference Finals Game 1 of Spurs vs OKC, the freshly crowned MVP Shai was utterly locked down by SA, while Wemby had yet another all-time nigh-unrivalled performance of being the youngest player since Lew Alcindor to record a 40-20 game in the playoffs, that too against the arguably GREATEST DEFENSIVE TEAM in league history. The way he mogged the OKC, reminds of how Hakeem trashed Robinson when the latter just won MVP. That match is already considered by now as one of the greatest matches in league history, one of the greatest conference finals and playoff matches in history, and Wemby came out of it as its undisputed and transcendent best player, no pun intended.
• So yeah, Paul ‘The Truth’ Pierce was not wrong to admit that Wemby is the most complete player in the game’s history, irrespective and respectfully of the legendary impact Jordan, Kobe, LeBron and Jokic had.
Paul Pierce is an NBA champion, 10×All Star, one of the most versatile attackers, possessed the highly coveted clutch gene, and a top-tier iso scorer in the game’s history, a true dawg amongst ballers, and Lebron’s first real career rival. And as a fan of the sport and as someone with a healthy quality and quantity of brain cells, I will take his word over that of keyboard warriors, Reddit ranters, commenting casuals and arm-chair wisdom spewing-pundit wannabes.

Everyone is saying “OKC has depth” but in this specific series the Spurs have more players that can put the ball in the net without Wemby than OKC does.
@sehilan3885
May 21, 2026 at 12:56 pm
OKC has depth, meaning their bench can give you 57 points a night, while the Spurs’ bench struggles to get 25… They also have many playmakers aside from Shai, whereas the Spurs do not (2 out of 3 being out which doesn’t help). And when Wemby is on the bench, OKC just eats in the paint.
@sehilan3885
May 21, 2026 at 12:51 pm
Big Perk with another clown take… Spurs without Wemby lose both games to Portland & Minnesota. OKC without SGA are still cruising in round 1 and 2, even when he wasn’t performing well, Mitchell or someone else would just take over. Even with Williams out, OKC has a reserve of other guards who can take over anytime. They are also arguably a deeper team. Meanwhile, Wemby has to perform to a top tier level and be the main engine on both offense and defense. If he doesn’t have a monster performance in game 1, Spurs do not win that game (Harper was also really impressive). When OKC is able to “neutralize” Wemby via poor/ biased officiating, they are suddenly able to get offensive rebounds & score in the paint at will. The on/off doesn’t lie, Wemby is vital to the Spurs, SGA doesn’t come close to his impact. But sure, Perk, stay hating…

Game 2 was the refs, they allowed Wemby to be held on every single possession offense and defense the entire night. Hartenstein, and Chet should have fouled out in 2 minutes into the game if they were to have called all the fouls. It’s just blatant on Hartenstein, half the time he’s not even playing basketball he’s just trying to wrestle with Wemby.
