Published

on

Rachel Nichols, Kendrick Perkins and Paul Pierce remember they were when Kobe Bryant dropped 81 points for the Los Angeles Lakers vs. the Toronto Raptors (with ESPN analyst Jalen Rose famously on the opposing team). They then discuss Perk’s decision to end his Twitter beef with former teammate Kevin Durant in the wake of Kobe’s death.

Kendrick Perkins is one of life’s best storytellers. I could listen to him tell stories around a campfire or a dinner table all night. A very engaging and funny man.

In this era, the closest was Devin Booker scoring 70 in a loss.

I was there with three other friends. I’ll never forget that moment, the crowd going crazy high fiving people you never met. The game and especially Kobe could make the crowd go crazy. I was also fortunate to have seen his second highest scoring games against Portland with 65. Rest in peace Kobe, Gigi, and the rest of lost their lives.

I was asleep when my brother told me Kobe had 60. I was like “okay…” about to get back to sleep. Then he said “It’s the THIRD quarter”.

    I shot out of bed.
