I imagine that with the play-in or play-offs looming, it seems like a tough balancing act for coaches when your stars have battled so many aches and injuries down the stretch. So if you’re this close, you try to minimize the risk of new or aggravated injuries. I’m sure Kerr actually wanted to pull Steph earlier, but I think Steph convinced Kerr that he needed to play most of the game because he probably feels he’s still shaking off a bit of court rust from the layoff, and wants to be at his full skill set. Even though, to me, it looks like he never left.
