    Hawks fan here. Trae’s talent was never in question, it was his inconsistency that ultimately landed him out of favor here. Trust me, we wanted it to work out for him and to be our guy until the end. We just weren’t a contender consistently and the team lacked an identity. Yes Trae goes average 25 and 10 but it’s not efficient. The field goal and 3 point percentage numbers are almost always pretty low. His passing and his court vision was impeccable. The guy is a true point, he’s just too undersized to be a number one in today’s league. I blame the Hawks front office back then for overall bad drafting and free agency pick ups. They couldn’t put the pieces together around Trae after that ECF. I give Trae just a small percentage of blame for not elevating his game consistently year after year. You want the star money and treatment, you have to accept the criticism if the team’s not winning
