This is the best Jazz team since John Stockton & Karl Malone – Michael Wilbon | The Jump

Published

on

Jorge Sedano, Zach Lowe and Michael Wilbon discuss the Utah Jazz ahead of the 2019-20 NBA season, who with Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley Jr., Joe Ingles and Bojan Bogdanovic have hopes of reaching their first NBA Finals since the John Stockton/Karl Malone era. The trio also talks about whether the Denver Nuggets are being overlooked, and what Michael Porter Jr. might bring to the team this season.

    The West is stacked!
Whether people want to admit it or not. Everybody wants the Lakers to win because of LeBron. Continue to look past the rest of the West. The Jazz are becoming a strong threat to win the West. I’ve picked them to win the West last year, I was wrong. They talked Nuggets which is good choice. I’m still picking the Jazz as a dark horse to win the West. Portland Trailblazers and the Golden State Warriors shouldn’t be ignore.

No mvp on this team like karl malone. They need that type of play from one of these guys to compare to that

Thought experiement; imagine if the Lakers or Celtics had the EXACT same roster as the current Jazz team. They’d be odds on favorite to win the whole thing and be talked about constantly.

It’s almost like the national media is biased against small market teams or something. πŸ€”

From 2007 to 2010, the Jazz won an average of 51.5 games in regular season. During that stretch, the only teams the Jazz lost to were the Spurs and the Lakers and both teams went on to win the chip in every season except the 2008 Lakers (I’m still salty about that lol).

This Jazz team has talent to compete, but this is another attempt by the media to disregard teams of the past. Wake me up when this team makes it to at least a WCF. ESPN over here spewing that nonsense that this is the best team since the MALONE and Stockton Jazz teams.

This team is nice but not that nice. This team can lose in the first round and it would not surprise me at all. Semi-finals is their ceiling to me.
