So two players whose teams ended up a combined 5 games under five hundred, one missing the playoffs, one swept in the first round, and missed half the games the last two years aren’t ranked in the top five? I’m shocked!
I love Lebron (and KD). I think its fair to claim he is the GOAT. At the end of the day father time has knocked both of these guys down a peg. Lebron is nowhere near the two way player he used to be. There is no shame in saying that in YEAR 20 is not the same force he used to be. Its incredible what he is doing. But to say that he ranks above Giannis, Steph, Jokic, Embiid and Luka is ridiculous.
This is about as bad a take as there is. Who is predicting the Lakers are going to finish above the play in? Who thinks Lebron will be an MVP contender this year? Its possible that he manages to avoid injuries, but that is a longshot. Steven A can’t just “ignore” games played. Thats an asinine argument. Its not like we are arguing between players who are expected to play 60-75 games and saying “ignore games played”. In three of the last four years Lebron hasn’t passed 56 games.
Same for KD. He was sensational for the start of the season. But he got hurt, again, and wasn’t playing at that level again. He hasn’t played without serious leg/feet issues since 2019.
