It is a team sports that’s all that is. Giannis is still in disbelief from losing to Miami yet an unfriendly question was thrown at his face

Wise words from Gianni’s, but he understood the question and loosing to an 8 seed is ABSOLUTELY a failure lol c’mon

Love how he talks but no matter how u slice it it was a failure for the best record in the NBA to get taken out by an 8th seed the reason I watch it to see who wins

    April 27, 2023 at 10:39 pm

I get what you’re saying giannis but it’s still a failure bro you lost in the first round of the playoffs and you are an NBA champion and an MVP that can’t happen.

  19. DaGran Masta

    April 27, 2023 at 10:50 pm

lol take that L and go home Giannis it is a complete failure. yea if you was the 4th seed or lower then yea there is exceptions.but when you have the best record , a MVP candidate, and top 5 defensive rating as a team, then that’s at least conference finals or finals.

Don’t compare yourself to MJ because once his team was good enough to compete for championships Bulls return year after year. you have a champion team and still lost in the first rd.

Love how humble Gianns is. I say he still deserves NBA MVP this season.

True.. We all fall down. How we pick ourselves up is everything.. They fell to Heat in 2020, Won the Championship in 2021..
    They did it before..

If there is no failure, then there is no success. If he won the championship, he would have claimed the success of his team. This season was a failure for a number 1 seed losing 4-1 to an 8 seed. It is ok to fail Giannis.

  25. ThrottleVinnieModo

    April 28, 2023 at 10:13 am

I get that Giannis is trying to go by MJ’s philosophy of learning from your losses. But the difference between their views is that one never claimed that “there’s no failure in sports”, and instead used those failures as fuel for more success.

I think he is saying you dont fail in sports when you do your best all the time…sometimes you still fall short. You learn get better then get the victory, championship, etc. To me the only failure in sports is quitting or cheating. Not winning is not the same as failing

The better question would’ve been how do you view this season after being bounced out the first round by the #8 seed Miami

  37. Christler Real

    April 28, 2023 at 4:25 pm

It’s nice to witness the maturity, professionalism, and growth of GA throughout the years on and off the court. He’s a good ambassador for the sport and a standard that most nba players should follow. Hearing how he responded is really a breath of fresh air.

Man explained his very complex answer to a very simple question the most perfect way possible. If you really look into what he said, nothing he said was wrong and made 100% sense. The only time you can have a failure in a “career” is when you don’t reach your ultimate goal at the “end/conclusion” of your career. Every thing “during” the career is just steps and ups/downs that you learn from to keep trying to reach that ultimate goal. Respect to Giannis. Even though Twitter trolls are just going to say “NAAA, this season was a failure”. Them kinds of people will never reach their ultimate goal so they take their frustrations out on others.

What an amazing ambassador for the league.

  47. April 28, 2023 at 11:43 pm

I’m a fan of yours but it is a failure. Especially being the number 1 seed, having the goal of being a champion this season and you being an mvp candidate this year?. It definitely is a failed season for you guys👊
