Stat inflation, it is not representstive to the actual performance once you take about 40% off of all numbers.
40 points today feels like 20-25 just 15 years ago

@RSL NothinG except there is definitely is,
fast pace = more possession = more stats.
More 3 point shots = more point, more long rebound for guards, more fast breaks.
More offensive focus playstyle = more everything.
Strict defense rule = more points/assist, more free throws.
Smaller lineup = no rim protector = more points/ assist.
In the year Kobe scored 81 points, there wasnt a single player other than him who scored 60+, and there was only 3 50+ points that season excluding Kobe. And those 50 points game was basically the top top top tier players career high.
22-23 alone we have 5-6 60points games and 2 of them were 70+ points, and one 60 points triple double.
And there a game that went to 180 points, 15 years ago the average was 80 points.
If anything I would say taking 40% off of the number nowadays before we compare is not enough

@dust cake yea and the game was more half count oriented but that was the 2000’s during the 50’s and 60’s the game was fast paced and even after that….the 2000’s was just a certain era of basketball‼️

Sure they are more skilled, but then wouldn’t that mean they would me able to play more defense? The league just want scoring and it’ll make the game boring. Can’t even lock down a player now days because you touch them and it’s a foul.
