Published

on

Rachel Nichols, Amin Elhassan and Paul Pierce play “Something, Nothing or Everything,” reacting to Coby White of the Chicago Bulls putting up 29 points in a preseason game, and Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle averaging an NBA-best 3.0 steals during 2019-20 preseason.

76ers are gonna be the best defensive team the league has seen in years. Horford, Embiid, Simmons, Richardson, Thybulle, Mike Scott…it’s gonna be ridiculous.

Amin: 29 points? It’s preseason it don’t matter
Also Amin: 3 steals in the preseason?! Everything.

      October 20, 2019 at 12:05 pm

Paul Pierce is the one who said it doesn’t matter
Amin said the 29 points was something because the Bulls play well when he is on the floor. If you are going to attribute something to someone at least attribute the proper quote in a 3 minute video.

Stop cryin’, 15th men all over the league scored 29+ points in different pre-season games this year.

I really like Thybulle but will have to wait to see if he was the better pickup than Carsen Edwards. We already have great defensive pieces, shooting wouldn’t hurt. But aye either way no matter who’s better he’ll be a good pickup

Amin! You’re all that’s left man. Where did everyone go? ESPN had the best basketball analysts in the world. And they let so many go. Keep on going Amin

There is basically no similarities of those players and Detroit team from early 2000’s except both teams being good defensively on paper, dunno what this even means.

That why love defensive players cause you can teach offense and always Dogs. Offensive players rarely can have them be great defensive players just look James Harden gives up defense. Defensive players have team mentality over me.

College defense doesn’t always translate into NBA defense at all. Malcolm Brogdon was also defensive player of the year in college, now in the NBA he’s a decent defender but by no means a lockdown defender. James Harden was also a good defender in college. Last year’s DPOY winner for college basketball, Jevon Carter can barely find a place on an NBA team. There’s great number of centers and power forwards who were defensive stars in college, and proceeded to be average defenders in the NBA.

76ers has ridiculous size in their starting 5 and terrific defensive options – Horford and Embiid both guard the rim greatly, Horford can guard Giannis and other hybrid PF’s who are speedy, Harris has a great size for SF as he’s originally playing PF, he’ll be a big body at SF. Richardson at SG and Simmons at PG are good defenders and have excellent sizes… If that’s not enough they have Thybulle to guard 1-2-3 of the opponents, he’s a pest. Defensively 76ers will be unparalleled. LAC with their fully healthy line-up will be an amazing match-up defensively if they meet in the finals..

Glad we traded off with Boston in a sense of what happened with markelle. Tatum woulda faired well in a sixers uni and while I like carsen, this kid is a DOG. Makes me less pessimistic about our second unit
