He literally just said Jokic is the best player in the world. However, to be the face of the sport is a different argument. You can’t just go back to your home country after the season ends. The NBA needs you to promote the league by starring in commercials and movies. You pretty much need to be the NBA’s celebrity. Jokic definitely doesn’t want to do that.

Jokic is the face of the league. I’m not a Nuggets fan, but what he’s doing is crazy. Anthony Edwards and Luca are a close 2nd.

I think Jokic is the best in the NBA but unless Jokic just decides he wants to care for the extra media stuff that comes with basketball than it is hard for me to see him becoming the face of the NBA. I can see him becoming the face if he wins championship after the championship, and the media and endorsements force Jokic to do it.
Anthony Edwards naturally gravitates towards the face of the NBA like moments and is already in advertisments, endorsements, and a movie. I can see the media deciding to move towards Edwards because he is available to the media, desires to be a superstar, always shows competitiveness, has a loud personality, and is great at the game.

If not only for injuries Giannis and Jokic would be Magic and Bird of this new era. Face of the NBA doesn’t necessarily be a 1 single person. Rivalries is more entertaining

Mad Dog sometimes goes too far in his old school stuff but when he’s just talking the history of the game, it’s great. Those centers he listed truly are icons of the game and Jokic being in that convo is amazing.
