It’s not going to happen you know why because every time a player is on fire the coach takes them out in the fourth quarter

It’s not impressive when wilt scored 100 because he was playing against trash cans. If someone scored 100 points today is not impressive because no one plays defense. It would have been jaw-dropping if someone scored 100 in the 80s or 90s they actually play defense at that time

This is precisely why I have Kobe ahead of LeBron! Let’s stop the BS, LeBron had to be forced into taking on that leadership role by Wade, whereas Kobe sought after it, doesn’t matter if he styled his game after Jordan. Who do you think Jordan his game after? Dr. Jay!!

There were several factors that made wilt’s 100 point game possible that would make it next to impossible today without many overtime periods even with the 3 point shot. The first was that wilt played every second of every game no matter the score. Even if a guy goes nuclear in the first quarter like booker did in his 62 point game and scores 30+ points, his coach will still sit him for at least the first 4 minutes of the 2nd quarter. Then if a player is actually hot enough to be on pace to reach 100 points in the second half, his team will almost certainly be blowing the other team out at which point the coach will pull the player from the game probably right after he passes Kobe’s 81. The second major factor was that once wilt’s team realized he had a shot a 100, they began intentional fouling with several minutes left in the 4th quarter, despite having a massive lead, in order to immediately get the ball back without any time running off the clock. Today, this would be considered an unspeakable violation of the unwritten rules that no coach would ever allow to happen. The final factor was the pace of play was so much faster in the early 60’s. The fastest teams today are averaging around 90 shot attempts per game. The year Wilt scored 100, his Warriors team averaged over 111 shot attempts per game

Kobe almost took 50 shots to get 81….one teammate had double figure attempts….the guy don’t pass the ball

Players who imo are capable of scoring 100 in todays game:

Steph (if he gets 15+ 3’s)
    Dame (already scored 70+)
    Booker(already scored 70)
Klay (scored 60 in 29 mins)

It’s because they cater to the players way too much, instead of the fans. The fans want the players to care, to give it 100% every night, treat the opposition as the enemy (in competition), to hold yourself and your teammates accountable, etc…. Now, everyone is buddy-buddy and very few players care about winning the title, specifically in the NBA. Look at European football (soccer), and you’ll see the difference. The fans mean nothing in America, unless it’s college sports.

I can see Embiid getting 100 because of how big he is and the amount of FTs he gets

KD and Bron won’t bring up today’s defense because they are benefiting from it. They know they’re getting older and don’t effect the game remotely like they used to. The weak defense today allows them to still hit a certain number on offense and mask really how ineffective their numbers have become compared to before.

Phil Jackson was the biggest hater taking Kobe out the game in the 4th quarter. He should’ve let him get to that 100!

I listened to the Doncic JJ Redick interview. Dude is ready to go back and have a farm life in Slovenia at age 24! He said he’ll be happy if he wins one ring! Just one is enough.
Let me tell you he is not getting that one chip.
    Not with that mentality.

should’ve lready happened during that gsw dynasty run. Kerr sat steph, klay and the starters in so many 3rd quarters where they caught fire but teams were getting blwn out by 20+
