Dennis Schröder is one of the NBA’s most underrated players. He’s proven time and time again that he is made for big moments and delivers. On top of that he is a leader and makes everyone around him better. I hope an NBA team realises that and gives him the role that he deserves.
And as a side note. Isaac Bonga and Andi Obst should be in the league. European basketball players are just underrated af.

nah not really. at least not in the NBA. he’s super underwhelming, doesn’t perform like this at all. but whenever he’s w Team Germany he’s like a diff person. plays like an absolute madman haha. shame it doesn’t carry over to the NBA though…

@@_birdie He doesn’t play “like that” in the NBA because he is not allowed to. In Germany he is THE guy and pretty much has the greenlight to do whatever he wants, albeit the German team plays a very unselfish brand of basketball. He gets everyone involved but when it counts he takes over and all his German teammates trust him to make the right play.
In the NBA he is more of a role player and the teams he has been on always had one or more main guys who the ball went to in the final posessions. Which is precisely my point. In the NBA, so far, (except maybe Atlanta) he has never been allowed to be the main guy. But I’m very confident if he were to be then he’d be putting up similar stats to the ones in FIBA competitions. Like I said. He’s severely underrated.

@@Cole-vp8ex the reason he’s a roll player and the main guys who the ball goes to in the final possession is that guy earned that ball from their play. If Schroder played at this level in the NBA he would get the ball. These FIBA tournaments are a very short window of games. In the 2019 World Cup Scroder and Germany finished 18th place. Scroder did nothing to Wagner came along. Most of the teams in these tournaments are not at NBA level, especially early on in pool play. Turkey only had two current NBA players on their team. Jordan Loyd who would be on USA’s Americup C Team was all-Eurobasket 2nd team. I know they beat the 2023 Team USA WC team by 2 points but that’s just one game. Before that game they barely beat Latvia. In the Olympic they lost to France with Wemby and Serbia with Jokic.

Schröder hatte Mega Szenen am Ende des Spiels, hat sonst aber nur in der defense überzeugt und hatte viele turnovers, Franz hatte eine starke erste Halbzeit aber die Türken haben ihn in der 2. Hälfte fast komplett rausgenommen. Bongs war der Held des Spiels!

Not many people in Germany even heard of Hartenstein, which is kinda crazy for a player of his caliber.
Every German knows the likes of Schroeder Bonga Voigtmann Theis and so on but Hartenstein (mainly due to injuries and such) is completly under the radar.
He wanted to play the Eurobasket, but had to pass due to injuries, but he will be a part of the team in the future.
Winning Olympia 2028 and beating the best the US has to offer is the goal.

since DA SILVA is not a current NBA player, why is Isaac BONGA not mentioned?
Dennis clutch plays aside, Bonga has been named Player of the Match for a reason. His early plays allowed for Germany to rally back, and he was always there defensively and in the end also offensively. he was ice cold.
