Raps going to turn Precious into a star. So glad we got him in that sign and trade.

Lots of optimism for Barnes , Precious and Banton , which is all warranted. But let’s not sleep on Ishmail wainwright.

I think we just saw how Masai outsmarted everyone at the trade deadline by not moving lowry and getting Precious Achuiwa in the off season for Lowry along with Dragic who will be flipped at the deadline. Even signing Ismael Wainright as a FA this off season. He is building a defensive nightmare for any team they face.

Not real but he will definitely contribute off the bench, but Gary Trent Jr is definitely a good trade for Norman and only 22 years of age.

Sam Mitchell said it great while commentating the game. “It’s great to make mistakes now (talking about Barnes) because if you do flawless in the summer league there’s nothing to coach him about” Barnes will do just fine..

Im glad my Rockets faced a squad good enough to whup them up and humble them. Its the Summer League, and a lost like this give them something to work on til training camp and getting ready to start the season. So, thank you, Toronto Raptor!!! 👊🏾💯!!

Now, what this game did is exposed Alperen’ slow body type. He needed it, because he was getting big-headed and carried away and.thinking he’s untouchable after two impressive games. 😌

I hope he learn several things about gearing up for the NBA:

    1. He will most likely always be the slowest guy on the floor. And his knack for dribbling the ball up the court like a PG, is a BONE-HEAD, DUMB decision. Kelly Olynik was guilty of that, too.

Sengun have to learn to grab the defensive rebound and immediately look to pass it off to a PG! When he tries to dribble it up the court, he’s killing his team’ possession while thinking he’s helping. Thats not helping. Thats playing DUMB and not respecting the defense and quickness of the guys to catch up to you like its nothing and strip the ball from.you.

And Sengun is already developing a bad habit of trying to run the floor. If Im a Coach, Ima take him away from the players, and in private, tell him very clearly in a tersed, tone voice: DONT DO THAT! PASS THE DAMN BALL OFF!

    2. Don’t attempt 3-pointers! We brought you in as a POST-PLAYER and defense. If we wanted you shooting 3s, we’d have kept Kelly Olynik and not even have drafted you.

    3. Don’t get the ball at the 3 point perimeter and try to And1 your way to the basket. We WILL NOT BE USING YOU LIKE THAT, SON! Thats why we let Kelly Olynik walk because he’s not a fit when he thought he had the green light to play at-will and do whatever he wanted to do. He aint built like and and neither are you.

    Next thing here: Josh Christopher:

    – Ball hogging and forcing up bad shots as a PG is the quickest way to kill team chemistry. And it takes a long while to correct that during the course of a game. When you play like that, everyone else will start looking for their own shots because you aint looking for them.

You driving in the teeth of the defense where you swarmed by 3 defenders taller than you and you tried to throw up a hook shot? You got caught slipping, bruh.

Run the point. Set your guys up, first. And the let game come to you. Dont force nothing. Set your teammates up with spacing to get a shot off. If it aint there, play to your strength which is your mid-range. If your mid-range shots ain’t falling, play to make contact and draw fouls.

And just circle back to looking for the open man, setting up your teammates. Don’t force nothing. Run the point, trust your teammates and let the game come to you.

    Last thing:

Get rid of Anderson (trash!!!!), and that other dude….#48, I think. He is TRASH. In two games he only made one 3 out of like, 8 to 10 tries!! The boy is hot garbage! And Jae’Sean Tate’ little bro, Im sorry, he gotta go to. Boy skinny as a twig stick and slew-footed. 🙄

At this point its obvious that suggs was the better pick compared to barnes but we’ll see i’ll give him this season to prove me wrong. Hope he improves his handles and be more aggressive offensively..

    • tmosh55

      August 12, 2021 at 11:30 pm

Dude from day 1 everyone knew Barnes was a project. Raptors knew from the start he was a ceiling pick, everyone on earth knew Suggs was better right now. 3 games into summer league you need to chill. Btw Suggs had a total of 6 points in his game today

VERY impressed by all the raptors young guns man they played like a team. Man banton gives me spicy P feels with the handles and the smooth finishes at the basket and he can pass! Wainwright did it all as well he’ll be a nice piece. But man oh man precious is the future! Look out for this kid he’s been putting in work this whole summer and is improving every day! He will be a beast this season and in the future to come. A lot of underrated signings for the raptors this off season. We had a quiet summer in terms of signing but in the long run I can see why we did what we did, a lot of upside to these young players.

Right around 3:39 you see Scottie grimacing and throughout you can see him not having quite the same burst and energy he usually has, up until he tries to dunk it later. Looks like kid just has to get used to the physicality of the NBA and playing on back to backs.
