The effort was there. Cam Thomas had a breakout game which is funny because he’s had a few. But this game Thomas felt like a complete shooting guard and those threes we’re beauty’s. Patty Mills energy is great on the court and his threes kept us in it and Lamarcus Aldridge continues to knock down buckets like a champ. But this was another winnable game with too many wasted opportunities.

Jokic got to play a little more relaxed out there tonight as he actually got some nice support. He was his usual efficient self though, 26 on only 13 shot attempts. A really nice performance for the second game of a back to back.

My way of looking at this game was evaluating the roster spots of James Johnson Bruce Brown and Jevon Carter. Johnson had the better performance by being active on some dunks and layups at the rim. But his defensive effort in the first was atrocious and he missed some easy layups. Jevon Carter shooting the three felt so awkward and lucky a few of them went in which possibly increased his trade value. But his foul trouble didn’t do much favors. And Bruce Brown had another lackluster performance where he misses an easy bucket and then fouls the opponents which did us no favors. Honestly hopefully Marks can take these performances and possibly sell them to other teams looking for veteran defenders

But Kessler Edwards is a standout my goodness! This kid dunks like Giannis at the rim! His speed though is ridiculous and that drive layup past Nikola J was killer and kess has no fear when he goes to the rim

Brooklyn tho needs a center who can rebound the ball like a Dwight Howard or Serge ibaka. And they really need a backup playmaker because cam Thomas and Patty Mills are shooting guards and do well in getting set up to score. Cam had some fumbles and having a Lou Williams or Garret Temple in this game could have really helped facilitate more

Man I don’t know why Nash keeps on playing James Johnson, he is missing free throws and key layups and allows turnovers. Instead you can use Blake Griffin.

Exactly!! Johnson had a decent performance with what he did contribute but he was awful in the first quarter and he missed easy layups at the rim that cost us.

Jevon Carter has to go before February 10. His three point shooting is shakey. Bruce Brown also underperformed again and made fundamental mistakes that he didn’t do last season

If the Brooklyn nets had another shooter like an Austin rivers this game could have been won. There is no guarantee Joe Harris will be back during the season or playoffs if the second opinion on his ankle needs another surgery or something. Patty Mills can only get you so many three point shots. Same with Thomas. Having one more three point shooter could really put the nets over especially if they don’t get Joe back

And Steve Nash said KD is getting evaluated in a week which means if everything goes well there a outside chance he could be back sooner then after the all star break. And he will probably be recommended to not come back soon but no one can stop KD if he wants to play

at 8:06, jokic sees 4 nuggets in his peripheral vision and 4 nets and as soon as he sees/hears johnson coming for the ball, he just instinctively knows there’s a player behind him waiting for the ball and makes the perfect pass. call it basketball iq or call it crazy reflexes.
