#9 is a travel by Jokic. He lifted his pivot foot before he shot it.

    • @mators

      February 25, 2025 at 2:48 pm

That’s not a travel and never was. The rule is you have to let go of the ball (shoot or pass) before your pivot returns to the ground. Think about it – how would a jump shot be allowed if you aren’t allowed to lift the pivot?

    • @joshuawoodard6998

      February 25, 2025 at 3:24 pm

@@mators That’s not how it works. You lift the pivot as you shoot the ball, Check out Hakeem, Jordan, Kobe footwork. They don’t spin on the pivot and take another step after.

    • @mators

      February 25, 2025 at 4:54 pm

@@joshuawoodard6998 hmmm yes it does. You are allowed to lift your pivot as long as you get rid of the ball before the pivot comes back down – there is nothing else to it in the rules. It’s called step through and you don’t have to jump with the both feet at the same time if that’s what’s bothering you. The thing is players just started doing it this way recently and it looks weird, but it was never disallowed by the rules 🙂
