Marcus Smart going off on refs is partly the NBA’s fault – Brian Windhorst | The Jump

Published

on

Rachel Nichols, Brian Windhorst and Clinton Yates react to Marcus Smart going off on referees after Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics, with Windhorst saying part of this is the NBA’s fault. They also react to Brad Stevens’ postgame press conference, in which he was exasperated over the loss and the Celtics’ lack of players.

The refs have been calling jab steps as travels for two years now. That’s how soft they have become, the officiating has been faulty to say the least.

Why not go off on the refs. Especially when they keep blowing calls. True the players shouldn’t bump the refs or threaten them, etc…

i love how they are talking about it being wrong how they talk to the officials then proceed to show two clips of clear fouls on Kanter and Kemba that didnt get called in crunch time. That kemba foul cost boston the game.

Oh cmon, referees make calls and players listen, if they don’t like it then go somewhere else! Just like cops with these crazy idiots that don’t understand the concept that they are supposed to comply with police officers! They have the authority to make that decision! Period. Marcus Smart should be suspended for the season

Simple solution! Put a referee in every corner and at the middle of the court!

“The NBA doesn’t back up the refs” as he goes on to say players need to get fined for getting mad at ADMITTEDLY wrong calls made 🤔🤔

Instead of Marcus getting pissed at the refs he needs to get pissed off at his teammates for choking a 21 point lead, and for choking a 6 point lead with under a minute to go in the game.

Next time he should take a knee. I bet the refs won know what to do then!

This is what happens when you have an overly politically correct league that caters to the players and the cheap seats. It’s easy to pick on the refs, as you can see from the usual dumb comments here, but it takes a leader to stand up for them when they are being unfairly attacked like this.

Brian windhorst is a joke. Refs can bet/gamble, determine the outcome of a game, or blow games by missed calls and players the only ones that have to keep their cool and be fined. When I ref blows a game its oh well🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️ we got it wrong.

That was a foul. Marcus Smart is the worst flopper in the history of basketball, he has no place to argue foul calls
