     Lol ok so basically manipulate the NBA system to get best players to the large markets. Might as well throw the whole trade rules, salary cap, and the whole NBA governance and have 10 big teams.

     ​@@WaveRider1989I mean that’s basically what happened. I haven’t heard one logical argument for the Mavs benefit (basketball related). Here are some I’ve heard. Do you know of any?

     – Didn’t want to pay him: they know they will lose money for this unless the franchise moves, so I don’t buy it.

     – Defense: he just lead the playoffs with 51 steals, next closest was 24. Lead the finals in steals and defensive rating among starters. Is he regularly a top defender, no. Is it worth trading a top 5 offensive player of all time for a guy who hasnt been 1st team all nba since Luka started his 5 in a row streak, no.

     – conditioning: he just lead the playoffs in minutes and was 3rd in mpg last year, also really stupid premise considering it was a private trade and not shopped at all

     – AD actually makes their team better: this one has been rare, but somehow there are a few that believe this. I don’t feel this needs argued.

     – What else?

    Even hedging by saying Dallas won the trade in the short term and Lakers in the long term was ridiculous. It was all racism . Lakers won the trade , period . Short term AND long term.
