When has Zverev had MATCH point in a final?? Yeah he was up 2 sets and a break on Thiem and 2 sets to 1 up on Alcaraz. But never had match points that I can recall

He hasn’t. That was an error. He was two points away from the US Open final in 2020. That’s the closest he has come.

As Caroline said he has matured and it was 6 years ago that lost the US Open final after being up 2 sets and a break. He also had a new mental coach. 🙏

@rosevillewoman2055Sure but the final against Alcaraz was 2 years ago and his most recent final was last year. I like Zverev and I would love for him to get his first slam. But this is Novak’s last real chance at number 25

@adimajumdar5219Yeah. I hate to bring it up but the 2024 final he had a personal issue that was dealing with that caused a lot of stress which was resolved right before the final. He ran out of gas in the 5th. Also, he is playing more aggressive and winning his earlier matches so far in quick style so should be less drained. I think mentally and physically in better condition this time and won’t be playing Alcaraz or Sinner.
