8:25 Wemby blocks a shot, 10:48 makes 2 free throws 12:54 contests/alters a shot but not in position to rebound and the ball gets put back, 25:34 makes like an 19 footer. That’s it. He can barely get leverage against #00 John Brown who is 6’7″ he guards him for a large majority of the time.

@Juice Talk I watched highlights of a ’77 playoff game between the Warriors (Rick Barry) and the Lakers (Kareem). Kareem put up FANTASY STATS but his team lost. Then you still think about, what Kareem would have done (in terms of wins) WITHOUT Magic, or as a scorer without his famed SKYHOOK. Then, put him in a 3 ball era where bigs have to defend IN SPACE… against pick and rolls. I honestly think Kareem/Ralph Sampson/Wemby are very similar players — but era wise, Kareem hit the jackpot.

@RealReactKiNg it’s hard to create space/breathing room. Tony Allen used to get up under Kevin Durant and really frustrate him, throwing off his shot/scoring, even though Durant could obviously shoot over him.

@Juice Talk Even Gregg Popovich said not to expect a championship no time soon. Wemby has high expectations but most Spurs fans know it will take him a couple years to start making a real impact in the league. Just having him on the Spurs roster is all that matters right now because he has a bright future ahead with that organization.

IDK y’all, Wemby seems pretty underwhelming to me… Lacks to strength to get into good position, and he looks pretty slow. He can defend the rim, but maybe not in a league with a defensive 3 seconds rule.
And he’s just not a good perimeter shooter. People get excited when a tall guy is able to make a 3, but it seems like Wemby shooting will be bad offense in the NBA… Like he’s definitely a worse shooter than Westbrook.
Of course he’s young with upside, but I think he’s very far from a sure bet to be a star in the NBA.

@charles cohen FO/scouts will have to keep doing their homework. I think Amen Thompson has the most UPSIDE in this draft even though his “bust potential” is also fairly high. At this point, I think the guys NOBODY talks about anymore are THE guys who are rising up the REAL draft boards.

@Mark Yacoubian I haven’t seen enough of the twins. I know they are super athletes but there are questions on their shooting and the quality of the competition. Since I’m an OKC freak I only really follow the guys they can realistically draft, like Wallace who I think could be an all-star d guy and Dick. But as we saw in the Denver trade yesterday Presti is always at work.

@Adeniyi Oduguwa Sorry, but after watching him play in the LNB I have posted a bunch that he had flaws. But his play in the playoffs have been disturbing for his numbers should have gone way up, not down.

@charles cohen I am probably gonna have Cason Wallace in the 4-8 range; maybe even ahead of Scoot. Gradey Dick is also in that range but I might put him as high as 2 or 3. HIstorically, guys like Amen/Ausar/Gradey have fairly high ceilings. Point guards like Cason Wallace have fairly high floors. Not sure how I would rank the bigs in this draft.
