Bird is legitimately overrated. Moderate skill set compared to today’s players.

      May 26, 2020 at 10:18 pm

LOL there isn’t a single player in the game today who sees the court like Bird. You’re legitimately dumb.

      May 26, 2020 at 10:26 pm

anyone today shooting 50/40/90 at 6’10? even if you strip away his vision, heart, post game, rebounding etc. his shooting alone would be a tool literally any team in the league would love to have.

      May 26, 2020 at 10:45 pm

@jdawg4404 I love Larry Bird. Larry Bird is a legend. Scares people. However, to say nobody sees the court like Larry Bird is largely dumb and I believe if you tell Bird in person that “nobody sees the court like you” he will disagree. Yeah I am a Lebron fanboy but Lebron probably has one of the highest basketball IQ in the basketball world tied with Bird and Magic both of them admitted that. But anyways Bird is underrated. I sometimes have him the best SF sometimes Bron.

    • Andrew Liu

      May 26, 2020 at 10:46 pm

@The Pope Mobile Don’t forget KD man. Bird has KD’s shooting, Lebron’s dominance and basketball IQ, and Kawhi’s clutchness but not the physical strength both 3 has.

    • jdawg4404

      May 26, 2020 at 11:28 pm

@Andrew Liu Lebron has a terrific basketball IQ as do guys like Chris Paul and Nikola Jokic. But as good as all of tje, are I don’t think any of them match Bird’s awareness and passing sense. He was that friggin’ good. And Bron is a better player than Bird but largely because he’s so physically gifted.

Let me set the record straight once and for all Larry Bird greatest small forward of all time without doubt its the intangible things that make a player great anyone who truly studies the game must agree

    • William Moore

      May 26, 2020 at 11:15 pm

That’s true but I also think Larry bird is seriously underrated on the defensive end

    • K L Sutton

How can people watch this and think it’s anywhere close to today’s level….

    Less skilled
    Less athletic
    Shitty offensive talent
    Shitty offense in general
And people think that people displayed better basketball in those shoes than today’s athletes in pro shoewear..

To be honest the way old school players describe the nba back then, I was expecting hard fouls and fights in this game. Only saw 1 incident in the whole game. I don’t get it

    • Coop52

      May 27, 2020 at 10:56 am

Watch laimbeer the whole game. He is putting elbows into parish. Thats why parish did that

    • OdeeLive

      May 27, 2020 at 11:41 am

@Coop52 yeah, but he did it that one time that Parish reacted. The fouls before and after that seemed pretty clean to me. Except I missed something

    • fabian Heilbron

      May 29, 2020 at 12:48 am

OdeeLive the physicality is there, it’s subtle though, you could tell that they move with a lot less space then today, there’s also a couple hard fouls that would’ve been flagrants, like in 27:04. Don’t come into these games expecting a full blown tackle session mostly just pay attention to the small things, those small changes are what makes the game a ton more physical than the way it is now

    • boredror

      May 29, 2020 at 9:58 am

It’s bullshit by oldheads, not even close to the truth. The game now is many times better on every single level. Players like LeBron, Durant, Giannis etc would have destroyed these old unathletic bums.

    • OdeeLive

      May 29, 2020 at 3:10 pm

@boredror A bit harsh lol. But agreed

    • Inigo Koh

people really underrate how loaded those bad boy pistons were talent wise, they only talk about them because of their physicality but they were a complete team loaded with talent. they had 4 legit scoring threats along with great defensive versatility. they almost made it to the finals 4 times in a row, made it 3 times and won back to back. they should be talked about as more than just a road block for michael jordan (i’m saying this as a die hard bulls fan) because they were really one of the greatest teams ever with one of the greatest players ever leading them in isiah thomas
