This great for the mavs luka was very inefficient tonight, but they still won, because he has a goat shooter on his team.

Older Klay fits better in the Mavs now. Being 3rd option is just much easier for him now than being 2nd option with the Dubs, given his legs and age

Just wait till they play a team with an elite guard or wing, who’s guarding that guy in this starting five? That’s the main issue more than his inconsistency shooting in the playoffs. He couldn’t make up for it on the other end. Guarding guys like SGA, ANT, Book, Fox, etc will be this teams hardest challenge. Losing jones was huge

      October 25, 2024 at 11:27 am

Lol. Mavs improved when they added PJ and Gaf. Mavs were shit defensively first half of the season last year and DJJ is their POA defender. Stop overrating DJJ. Luka revived his career.

      October 25, 2024 at 1:16 pm

@@StrongMan2426 I don’t even know how to explain this to you because if you want to win, you need a point of attack defender. The Celtics had white, holiday and brown. The warriors had prime Klay and iggy. The raptors had kawhi, green and lowry. The mavs last year needed more size, toughness and athleticism out of their bigs and they got that in the trade. And idk if you realize this but good defense requires good ball pressure, rim protection and rebounding. They lost their guy that gets into people. Don’t underestimate the importance of a role player. They typically are the unsung heroes

Probably why he got his confidence back is he knows he got someone at his back when he misses the shot. Someone to set him up for the shot. He misses, there’s a rebound, he wants a shot he just finds an open space. Come on klay! Lets give them a hell of a show this season!
