All the people saying Ben Simmons deserves it don’t understand Goberts massive impact and the fact that he has led the jazz with one of the best individual defensive seasons in history. Curry has gravity with his shooting, Rudy has antigravity in the paint, teams have to scheme around him because of his impact. Rudy is the entire defensive anchor for the team but people like to clown him some reason.

but how did Simmons score 42 on him in the paint when Simmons offense has been pretty shit this year

@justice4germans using one-game examples does nothing for your argument, Gobert’s opponent field goal percentage against guards in the paint is ridiculously low. Ben Simmons case for DPOY is much more narrative based unlike Gobert who leads the league in basically every defensive advanced metric.

@justice4germans In that specific game, Ben Simmons went 3/7 FG when defended by Gobert. Ben had a great game, got 42, but look the L. Gobert kept to his assignments, played team D, team took the W.

Rudy – I have height, so I protect the rim.
Ben – I have arm span, I protect the 3pt line.
Draymond Green – I do everything bitches !!

Gobert, and it’s not even close. Simmons and Green can guard all positions, which is cool and all, but no one is SCARED of them like they are Gobert! People look at Gobert and go the other direction. Gobert is having a historic season and I just don’t think Simmons or Green even stands a chance, really.

Am I the only one who thinks draymond should not be in DPOY talks… because he really shouldn’t be considered. He is very overrated in my opinion and he can’t even score 10 points a night and averages more rebounds and assists than points. I mean he is okay be not this good as everyone hypes him to be
