Why would Pop leave the Spurs? He has 5 Championships, the most wins in NBA history and is already revered as one of the best coaches ever. The man has nothing left to prove, it would be like asking Bill Belichick to leave the Patriots and go coach another NFL team. Not to mention unless that roster goes through a major overhaul there are still more holes to fill than just changing coaches.

I started watching nba at the age of 6. Game 1 of the finals between spurs and knicks was the first game I watched and ever since then I’ve been a spurs fan. He was already the coach back then and now I have my own daughter and she’s also 6 and he’s still the coach. I can’t fathom him on the sideline for a different team.

So the people who were bashing Popovich’s coaching style during the Olympics because he was “forcing” players to play like a team instead of giving the ball to the superstars and let them do what they wanted now want him to leave his job of over 25 years to go fix a mess that somebody else did… Why would be do that?
