Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey delivered an all-time Game 7 performance on May 2, 2026.

Embiid finished with 34 PTS, 12 REB, while Maxey added 30 PTS, 11 REB, as the duo made NBA history.

They are just the 3rd duo EVER to each record 30+ PTS and 10+ REB in a Game 7, joining:

Kobe Bryant & Shaquille O’Neal (2002)
Dolph Schayes & George Yardley (1959)

Even more impressiveโ€”theyโ€™re the ONLY duo of the three where BOTH players also recorded 5+ AST.

A historic Game 7 showing from Philadelphiaโ€™s stars.

Say what you want about Joel Embiid, but there’s no denying that he can come through in big moments like we saw today in Game 7 against the Celtics.

Watching Embiid gut it out there while Jokic and the Nuggets embarrassed themselves this round is honestly so cathartic.

Jokic is better than Joel, don’t get me wrong, but the way Denver fans tear down Embiid and act like he’s Michael Olowokandi or something is just nasty. They always act like it’s an insult to compare anyone to Jokic.

And at least even when Embiid is struggling offensively, he still gives you good to elite defense. Jokic meanwhile is an absolute cone on defense.

NBA teams are 7-0 right now in Game 7 when one of their player has a birthday.

    Happy birthday Paul George!

Philly is so exciting to watch. The other team is focused on star power not playing the game to win. With Embiid in this team is tough to beat.

Embiid won an MVP on 2 shot knees and is still an all star level player when he can barely walk. People forget how insanely good he is. Like hes by far 1st all time in points per time on court and its not even close.

The 76ers in yearsโ€™ past with Harden/Simmons wouldโ€™ve lost this game 7. The difference maker this year is Tyrese Maxey – heโ€™s officially established himself as the clutch spiritual leader of this team.
