Jaylen Hands is going to Euroleague or China. He has the skills to show the highlights, but if you watch his game film he doesn’t do much on offensive in 5v5 on NBA level to warrant consistent playing time from coaches. On defense he can’t make the reads or execute enough to be average. Best case he is a rotation player in the NBA, because he has long way to go for coaches to trust him. He also trying to get in rotation, and fighting other young prospects trying to get their shine.

issue is there’s a whole generation of players like this who are electrifying when they have the ball in their hands all the time and playing against smaller/less athletic competition. But once they get past college they either have to be next level shooters or distributors to fit into either guard position. Hands is listed as a PG but he’s not a great passer and not a good enough shooter or big enough to easily fit as a SG. I think you’re right that the big flaws that are keeping him out of the League won’t matter as much overseas where I’d guess he can have a nice career.

Disappointed to see his first step and defense hasn’t improved much since his hs/college days. Shot looks a lot smoother but still not enough to make up for his lack of explosiveness coming out of his dribble. These guys were giving him fits on both sides of the ball. Disappointing to see but he’s still very young and can improve on these things. Rooting for you Jhands🙏
