Is Zion Williamson already unguardable? | The Jump

Published

on

Rachel Nichols, Ramona Shelburne and Clinton Yates react to Zion Williamson’s 35-point game vs. the Los Angeles Lakers, and discuss whether the New Orleans Pelicans rookie (who drew praise from LeBron James and Danny Green after the game) is already unguardable in the NBA. They also (2:41) discuss whether the Kawhi Leonard/Paul George LA Clippers’ offense is actually better than the defense, and (4:18) if Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal is still motivated by the 2020 NBA All-Star Game snub.

Because there is not a penny worth of defense in the NBA. I can guarantee if this was the 90s It’s a different story.

SHAQ worked that area around the rim…Zion will too. He will average 25 points without a jump shot

Lonzo should focus on being the next “Jason Kidd”…he does that he will be a HOFer.

We just need the 90s NBA back to replace those 3 point shooters.

Unguardable is such a stupid term. Every player in the NBA can be guarded somewhere or another, otherwise there would be no missed fieldgoals or lost games.

    Yes zion is the Goat

Zion is just a proof that the NBA really got soft. Ok it won’t be easy to guard him he’s too heavy and strong but even shaq was guardable. These young players are just too soft

Everyone hating on zion are the same people who are lebron fans. This is exactly what they did with lebron when he came into the league and before so stop being such a baby.

It makes me wonder if Zion and Lonzo Ball situation is the same situation as the JKidd and Kenyon Martin one. When Martin went to the Nuggets away from JKidd he was not putting up those All Star caliber numbers as he did with Kidd. I’m wondering if you take Ball away from Zion would he put up those numbers?🤔

“Just don’t let him catch it near the paint” so here the thing in transition he’s faster than any 4 or 3 in today game so he’ll beat them to the spot to set up if Ball didn’t already launch it from half court. When he catch it outside the paint he can face up on the 5 or 4 that’s guarding him, and if it’s a 3 he can put his back to the basket. Z can feel the power in which an opposing player is trying to prevent him from backing them down to counter that well y’all seen that spin move against Kuz. So in any given situation will he have the overwhelming advantage? Yes he is unguardable.

The Lakers should have never gotten rid of Lonzo Ball.

Zion and Ball can become a dominant duo. Both careers could benefit for the next 10 years. Easy to build a team around those 2.
