Only if your opponent knocks the ball away. He lost control of the ball so it’s clean. No turn over.

@Raystonebooks losing possession where you have the ability to recover is a lil different when a defender forces you to lose possession where that is an instant turnover no recovery allowed. One rewards the defense the other allows you to make up for mishaps like we see in this video. I think its pretty fair on both sides

shouldn’t have counted…. if the ball took 4 more tiny bounces instead of a pure roll with micro bounces, then they’d have no choice but to call it a 5 dribble count

@MrToocool624 if you can do this, then why not just intentionally roll the ball and shoot it–if you’re faster than your defender, you can probably gain a space advantage that way

It’s not a dead ball unless the defender hits the ball, and it clearly hit his ankle, he didn’t dribble again. He picked it up before it went out and shoot it. What’s the problem?????

2 dribbles + roll is what happened.
The problem is they don’t actually count dribbles in the 1v1 space, but bounces (of the ball). As it’s a bounce limit, I think the ball rolling should just be added in the rules as ending the possession. It’s not in the spirit of one possession to run across the court after a ball rolling away.

I’ve seen Hezi sometimes do this thing in 1s where he will bounce the ball and let it bounce several times as he backs u down then he grabs it and shoots. If he can get away w that then this is fine

I think it shouldn’t matter if the ball bounces or rolls, call it same both ways. If it’s loose ball call it dead or call it live, just be consistent

One dribble, but part of his movement was based on an implied second dribble, meaning he moved as if he dribbled twice, but he only dribbled once. Was it a travel? No.
