How each of the the NBA’s top 4 contenders can get even better | The Jump: OT

Published

on

Rachel Nichols, Dave McMenamin and Richard Jefferson head to “OT” to discuss the teams that could still make some improvements as they contend for the 2019-20 NBA title. Mentioned are: The Philadelphia 76ers, who still need scoring and shooting punch alongside Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris and Al Horford; the Milwaukee Bucks, who could use the same next to Giannis Antetokounmpo; and the Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers, who are stacked with LeBron James/Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard/Paul George, respectively, but both figure to be vying for the services of Andre Iguodala after his buyout.

    LAKERS TRADE KCP TO MEMPHIS
    MEMPHIS TRADE IGGY TO LAKERS
    LAKERS RECEIVE IGGY
    MEMPHIS RECEIVE KCP
    Simple as that.

Andre Iguodala is going to be a Laker. And then in 3 years when he retires, he’s going to regret not choosing the Clippers. If Lakers wins a chip this year, it’s one-n-done. It’s 06 Heat, 08 Celtcs, 11 Mavs, & 16 Cavs.

Lakers are a future one-n-done team. At any time, LeBron, Dwight, and Rondo can break down. Clippers can win how many chips after three years? Two or perhaps even three? Instead of 4 rings, Iggy would’ve finished with 5 or 6.

Iggy is not thinking ahead. Similar to LeBron who chose the wrong LA team with the worse front office. Lakers might be riding high now but it’s only 6 games. Things can go sideways by December. Clippers are a potential dynasty..

Kawhi is only 28. We’re witnessing as if Michael Jordan was still playing in 1991-1992 when Jordan VII arrived. Except Mike was going after his 2nd ring. Kawhi already has 2. And nobody really called MJ the GOAT before 1996.

Can you imagine Iggy AND Kawhi on one team? thats two LeBron stoppers, in addition to the terrific mid-range defense of PG13. Come on iggy, you KNOW you want another chip! Come get it!

How good would it be if Iggy came to the Sixers… the shooter and closer we need and he can chase titles with the team he started with
