The Nets defeated the Hornets, 97-89 tonight in Brooklyn. Nic Claxton contributed a team-high 16 points to go with 2 blocks 4 rebounds and 2 steals, with Cameron Johnson of the Nets adding an additional 14 points (5-9 FG, 2-6 3P) and 14 points in the game. Moussa Diabaté finished with a team-high 21 points along with 10 rebounds for the Hornets in the losing effort. The Nets improve their record to 19-34 with the win, while the Hornets fall to 13-38 for the season. The Nets’ next game is Wednesday, 2/12/2025, against the 76ers on the road (7:30 PM ET, YES/NBC Sports Philadelphia), while the Hornets continue their road trip on Wednesday, 2/12/2025, when they face the Magic (7:00 PM ET, FanDuel Sports Network – Florida/FanDuel Sports Network – Southeast – Charlotte).

    More lockdown defense and 2nd chance points tonight. 5th in the league in defensive turnovers so we have a clear identity at this point.

    Trendon watford is getting a big opportunity as one of our playmakers with ben gone. Clax is playing inspired basketball and I forgot Cam was even on the court at times (good thing)
