Cleveland has the talent (on paper) but there’s definitely something missing. Maybe their GM can figure it out and make a move or two, or would that just make it worse?

Facts they shouldn’t be losing to some of these teams with their roster

A closer like Jimmy Butler or Shai. Donovan couldn’t actually do it at Utah too.

Seems like coaching to me. They make the same mistakes every night and never seem to improve. Missing free throws and turnovers in key moments. In games like this they’ll do just enough to keep it close and then can never seem to close. They wouldn’t even be in these situations if they would just focus on the little things throughout the game.

Heat are like wild dogs, not the biggest or the fastest but definitely don’t mind being scrappy as heck to gut out the W.

The heat always does this. Starts out mediocre and starts winning during mid-season.

What’s the point of getting the 1st seed if they’ll be burned out and injured come playoffs. Being in the lower seed suits them better as it would motivate them. They’re better being underdogs anyways.

    • Manje11

      January 31, 2023 at 11:07 pm

@Jimmy G Buckets 22~~ But, they’d also get tougher teams and a higher chance at a first-round exit. As it stands now, they’d be meeting with the 6ers, who are a much tougher team than let’s say the Knicks or Hawks.

Although I agree with the motivation part, you also want to create momentum early on by easing your way through the first round.

Bill Parcells said that in order to know how to win close games, you gotta win close games (something along those lines). The point is, the Cavs are not winning close games so they are not learning how to win close games. They are slowly creeping toward the play-in and that will be the result since they continue to crumble under pressure and hide as soon as the game gets physical. The Cavs are not showing any signs of growth/development yet, JB is still the coach. Who is in charge of getting the team right?

By the way, to everyone stressing patience and waiting, I say this: you don’t trade your future to win now just to turn around and say be patient. If the Cavs didn’t trade their next 5 years 1st rounders away, then I would be patient. But if they say they want to win now and go all in for it, then they better start winning right now. (I know some of the 1sts are pick swaps but, the Cavs won’t have the higher pick).

  7. Vooduh

    January 31, 2023 at 10:58 pm

Cavs just continue to throw. They seem so content with mediocrity. Making the same mistakes every single game. No improvement. Cavs are an average team that happened to start hot.

Huge possibility that Miami will take the fifth seed to complete the top five. From Boston down to Miami they all have struggled but if there’s something that they have that the Cavaliers don’t have at all this season is experience. They’ve seen the playoffs they’ve been to the Conference Finals and some of them have even gone to the Finals. As much as Jarrett Allen hates to admit Cavs are still learning.

The cavs is soft and inconsistent offensively coach need to find a balance there’s no excuse with amount of talent they should be losing bad close games like this they missing toughness And scrappiness bunch a guys that wanna Jack shots but don’t wanna play any defense is un acceptable I think Darius garland and caris levert is the issue whole in the offense they’re decision making is not good Evan Mobley you don’t what effort you gonna get from him nightly based he’s soo inconsistent just like caris

@AlexTechie well, he was the coach of the heat when LeBron and Wade won the Finals so he did have something to do with them winning a ring. If you said i had nothing to do with them winning, you would be right because im just a fan watching on TV
