Kerr walked in to a ready-made team, and benched Tatum in the Olympics. I think you mean coaches like Phil Jackson, Red Auerbach, Pat Riley, Mike K., Jerry Sloan, Don Nelson, John Wooden, Lenny Wilkins, and even Greg Popovich.

You are right if Doc is in the king of blowing 3-1 series leads. How isn’t KC Jones in as a coach who won 2 NBA championships as the Coach of Boston. And he coach them to the finals a total of 4 times going 2 and 2. And also Coach the Washington Bullets to the finals in 1975 but they came up short. Basketball hall of fame last few years is a joke.

I really enjoyed watching this. It brought back a lot of memories and I love the NBA family especially what it used to stand for these days. The NBA is kind of losing the fiber at once held. I wish it could get back to that great place.

Doc Rivers: The HOF is about the person themselves in who they are, what it took to ‘get there’ and who helped them along the way and guided their careers, but more about the person they are and how they went to really cap off their profession towards the public — everyone has their own unique story and someone selects a guy for the HOF. Doc was just solid as a player, coach, and he was a great broadcaster, he never won as a player but that trade in for Garnett and Ray Allen pushed the Celtics into a one-hit wonder and mainly that’s why Doc is sitting up there professionally. Honestly, as a player, Doc just did his job but if he wasn’t on your team, you weren’t missing out on anything.

Doc definitely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame regardless of his bad track records like the inability to reach another Conference Finals since 2012, blowing a 3-1 series lead 3 different times and milking on the 2008 Celtics championship team to keep getting coaching gigs.

The worst coach ever. Most blown leads in the playoffs. Most game 7s losses. Multiple 3-1 collapses with the lead late in games. You suck doc

I was not a fan of Doc Rivers as a Sixers coach, so instead of just hating, I decided to look up some other coaches in the Hall of Fame.
Larry Brown- long career, also played in the league, has about the same winning percentage as Doc Rivers and only one championship.
Jerry Sloan- long career, also played in the league, better winning percentage, zero championships, losing record in the postseason.
I guess by those standards, he is an HOF coach. Congrats

Congrats, Doc – that 2008 team was epic! In fact, I still have the championship photo on my bedroom wall. That’s one of the many moments in Boston sports, and in my life, that I’ll never forget!
