    This contest started gimmick dunks and was the start of dunk contest downfall. Except the Lavine vs Gordon year every dunk contest has been awful.

    Lots of bling bling, lots of artificial sideshow stuff with a gospel choir etc…but compared to the rough, rugged n‘ raw contests from ’85 to ’95 this is just a pale shadow.
