I Lost All Respect for Brian Windhorst. He is No Different than Stephen A. Smith and Kendrick Perkins: ESPN PUPPETS, THAT WERE SICKED-ON JAYLEN BROWN, AFTER BROWN CALLED ESPN, “ UNETHICAL “.

Come on, man. Are you really going to discuss the financial piece only in terms of what each player is making next year? It’s not about that. It’s about what each player will cost the Celtics in the next 3-5 years. Also, going out like they did to the Sixers…it doesn’t get worse than that. What they had was broken. A major change needed to be made and they made it.

    • @lastillrules365

      July 9, 2026 at 12:25 pm

No change needed to be made honestly. They wouldn’t been favorites next year with JB and Tatum

      Sure bud

    • @sonnyvoight6894

      July 9, 2026 at 1:01 pm

I agree a major should have been made , but not in the core player position. A coaching change was needed, Celtics cannot be consistent with 3 point shooting, Joe Mazzula didnt seem like he wanted to change that identity. Brad is acting like the Celtics can’t beat teams. They were up 3-1 on philly. That’s a coaching issue when you are up and the other team comes back like that. Same thing with the Knicks last year. Mitchell Robinson was a great addition, he has experience and he is tough. Neamis is soft, not ready for playoff basketball yet. We would have been fine! Nowadays we cant expect to win a championship every year. Look at the thunder, they looked like they were going to repeat, nope!

      July 9, 2026 at 1:49 pm

The east is loaded. Unless Tatum is a 30ppg scorer, they gonna be in the play-in next yr.

    • @brianb1733

      July 9, 2026 at 2:48 pm

@lastillrules365Yep, that’s why they needed to make a change. Two players with high usage and no, or undeveloped, depth doesn’t get it done in today’s NBA.

Clown show talk. Jaylen made the team worse in almost every category. It’s great he was able to turn high volume into counting stats. But ultimately that’s not going to contribute to real winning basketball.

@michaeln3044Paul George cannot led the C’s to 50 wins without Tatum

  6. @Briley251

    July 9, 2026 at 12:44 pm

It’s simple he was up for a 2 year 140 million dollar extension coming in July and they didn’t want to give it to him. They tell him that and then they have to deal with a disgruntled star who would likely try to force his way out and decrease his value further. The return was bad but let’s see what Brad can do from here. Hopefully next summer is whale season for the celtics.

  7. @spaceghostthetraveler

    July 9, 2026 at 12:47 pm

Stevens didn’t value Giannis either as the C’s weren’t willing to extend him to 3 yrs by only offering 2. Miami gives him the 3 yr extension that he was seeking and Pat Riley wins the day. Chisholm is the new Henry.

      July 9, 2026 at 6:41 pm

I do not. He will be no better than, or maybe not even as good as phillys new 6th man, anfernee simons.

    • @michaeln3044

      July 9, 2026 at 6:48 pm

Pritchard with Jaylen on/off numbers: 16 to 27. He’s significantly better on the court with no Jaylen.

    • @em6824

      July 9, 2026 at 7:21 pm

@michaeln3044 you mean against the opposing teams bench right? Thats why these analytics are f’ing stupid. Because its not backed by context. Yall talk about these games they won without him but dont mention 80%of those wins were against sub 500 teams and teams that were obviously tanking. They got blown out by a team that they won against with Brown a game before off a back to back. Yall think they would have been able to have a 9-2 record all season is laughable 😂😂😂. Brown was getting pp and White 5% more open/wide open shots all season and his number 2 was shooting sub 40% all season and pp wasnt far off those numbers either. But yea Brown was the reason they couldn’t put up numbers. Gtfoh. This team wouldn’t have been the 14th seed without Brown this season and thats a fact.

  12. @uzi978

    July 9, 2026 at 1:45 pm

People are being way too emotional about this trade. I love JB, and he’s a really good player, but under the new CBA you just can’t have two wings taking up around 70% of your cap unless they’re both absolute no-doubt top 10 players.

Jaylen is a great scorer, but he doesn’t make his teammates better the way other max guys do. Too many possessions end with a shot or a turnover. On defense he’s good when he’s guarding his man one-on-one, but off the ball he loses guys, watches the ball too much, and doesn’t create a lot of deflections or steals. The analytics back up what you can see if you’ve watched him his whole career.

The other thing people keep ignoring is the market. Jaylen is 29, in his prime, under contract for 3 more years, and there still wasn’t some huge bidding war. If teams thought he was worth that contract, somebody would’ve beaten Philly’s offer. Brad didn’t just wake up and decide that’s all he wanted. He took the best deal that was out there.

People keep saying the Celtics got fleeced. I think it’s more likely Brad looked at the second apron and realized this core wasn’t sustainable anymore. Now Philly has one year before they’re dealing with the same roster restrictions Boston was trying to get out of, while the Celtics get their flexibility back much sooner.

We’ll see who was right in a couple years. I have a feeling this trade is going to age a lot better than people think.

    • @teehoops6819

      July 9, 2026 at 3:04 pm

Agree. Most ppl don’t know the business side of basketball lol. Nobody from Boston hated brown it was a business move and for the future of the Celtics. Nobody could have. Two top players at max like that Just impossible. And it will come back to hunt you
Ppl gotta realize this new cba rules have changed the way basketball organization operate now ,

    • @JB_019

      July 9, 2026 at 3:36 pm

The “doesn’t make teammates better” narrative requires that Brown carried that team to the 3rd seed (though aNaLyTiCs suggested he’s the 7th best player on a team), everyone else is much better than average (despite the major overhauls made prior to the trade deadline) and a ‘ship is coming next season, or last season was a fever dream.

    • @nicholasgray4103

      July 9, 2026 at 5:26 pm

Other teams did make better offers though…

    • @michaeln3044

      July 9, 2026 at 7:00 pm

It’s not even money saving, it’s operational. Look at the penalties for repeater taxes. Teams are still slow to get it to. Miami team is trash, the Mitchell pretty much seals Mobley will be on market if they don’t win it all, this Philly roster can turn into a nightmare fast, the Austin reeves max is dumb. The Minnesota lamello/ant has a 10 percent chance of working. Portland just has a bunch of dudes. The Celtics are doing exactly what they should here.

  13. @Rahsaam

    July 9, 2026 at 1:52 pm

Makes 0 sense! You are paying PG the same money the next 2 years and there’s no way the sixers don’t take that same deal a year from now.

    • @mattclark6721

      July 9, 2026 at 6:28 pm

Trade a 50 exspiring contract (PG)
Over giving JB a 70 mil for 2 years exstention this summer.
Over all cap is 8 mil less then predicted due to local TV markets closing.
Pg makes that money but does not need the ball in his hand for production.
The log jam position celtics have is SF.
Prichard can replace a lot of that offense production. PG has Hugo Walsh hauser and shierman to eat up minutes.
PG is a contract slot holder not long term.

They seem to be confident in how they drafted and develop talent.

    • @shutup-q2l

      July 9, 2026 at 6:28 pm

PG contract expires the same year as Jokic.

    • @mattclark6721

      July 9, 2026 at 6:36 pm

@shutup-q2lnext year is a player option.

    • @Rahsaam

      July 9, 2026 at 6:44 pm

@mattclark6721 PG will miss a ton of games. He was healthy in the playoffs b/c he sat out like 25 games at the end of the season. He also going to opt in b/c he won’t get anywhere near that money if not.

    • @michaeln3044

      July 9, 2026 at 6:52 pm

@Rahsaamliterally not possible to forecast. But pg is likely healthier than he’s been in years with a full knee surgery recovery aided by a short season. For our purposes he’s essentially playing for a contract. Yes he’ll take the option, but he’s likely getting shipped with assets to free the cash n he’s going to want a new team to offer him his final deal. Celtics can likely keep him on a horford play schedule. Hes an infinitely better shooter and defender than Jaylen. N he’s a Swiss army guy who improves flow, offensive continuity and kills catch n shoot stats. Mazzula system is made for him.

I really don’t think it’s that complicated. I think JB was causing issues in the locker room and they would rather get him out of there than allow it to fester. Shams has already said that him and JT pretty much had no relationship over the past year.

    July 9, 2026 at 6:36 pm

    Lets air this out for casuals, and for those who may not fully understand what my slow, slimeball, disloyal franchise just actually did;

Paul George 36 years old; 17 5 3 43% shooting 37 games played. Notable acomplishments this season: suspended for performance enhancers….54Ms

Now, for 57Ms, plus loyalty, plus the unquestioned team leader

Jaylen Brown. 29 years old. 29 7 5. 47% shooting….39.37opponent fg% while always guarding the best perimiter players in the league ( thats 2nd among qualifiers) now lets dig in…Jaylen Brown notable acomplishments this season, and mind you this is already a finals mvp and all time celtic BEFORE this season, so here we go.

    Jaylen Brown;

Lead The NBA in made FGs ( 1st boston celtic to do that in NBA history)

Lead All SGs in RPG at 6.9

Had the 2nd best opponent fg% in the nba among players to defend atleast 300FGA at 39.37%. Thats 2nd in the NBA

Was the ONLY player out of all 450 rostered nba players to finish top 5 in PPG ( 4th ) AND top 5 in opponent fg% as we said at 39.37% which was 2nd) this type of elite on ball defense is priceless when you have guys like tatum an white whos entire defensive chops are OFF BALL and NEED a guy to be locking up superstars. Watch how bad derrick white was when trying to guard maxey an edgecombe on ball. He cant.

1st boston celtic since Larry Bird and Havlicek to avg 28+ 5+ 5+

Joined Michael Jordan and Luka as the only players to record 35 5 5 under 25 mins played

8th Boston celtic to record over 2000 pts in a season

Only Jaylen And Luka avgd 28+ 6+ and 5+ this season

Had the most total drives to the rim in the nba and the 2nd most pts off drives in the nba. ( didnt brad stevens say we want MORE rim pressure ??? He did. Well now we have NONE because everybody knows tatum is allerigic to everything other than 35 ft stepbacks ) That loss in rim pressure is going to destroy this offense.

Lead a team most said was a lottery team To the 4th best record in the NBA, 2nd best offense, 4th best defense, and thats AFTER losing tatum, jrue, kp, horford, kornett in the same offseason and a #2 by his side in derrick white that only shot at a 39/33 clip.

Lastly we made the 76ers better than us and we even allowed them to really rub it in our face and land walking flamethrower anfernee simons at only 6Ms per year. He will now be their 6th man. So as you can see, jaylen Brown is worth EVERY penny. Donovan mitchell was just extended at 68.25 Ms a year and donovan mitchell is not the best 2 way player in the nba, not even remotely close. Jaylen brown is 100% undeniably that. An save the wemby nonsense for somebody who cares hes 7’5 an wasnt even top 10 in ppg and his 39.40 opponent fg% from being 7’5 and standing in the paint, id below jaylens 39.37% and jaylen is guarding superstars on the ball. Do the cavs not have Harden AND mobley ??? Well they remained loyal to mitchell. Stevens, chisolm and the celtics did an all time celtic DIRTY and this will not end well at all. Ask yourself this, while real basketball minds know that brown is more valuable than tatum due to the ridiculous 2 way ability. When Tatum is jacking 15 3s and making 4 of them and the Cs keep losing games by 4 and 5 pts, who will THAT blame now go on. Because jaylen has been blamed for everything. Tatum just blew the 76ers series. We had it with a 3 1 lead, at home, with a 13 pt lead, what did he do? He jacked 12 3s, made 4, and we lost and didnt even score 100 pts. This happened AGAIN last season. Game 1 and 2 vs the knicks with TWO 20 pt leads, what did tatum AGAIN do ? He shot 12/42 and gave Both 20 pt leads away. Instead of HOOPING with the LEAD and WINNING BOTH GAMES…he CHUCKED for PTS and gave TWO 20 pt leads away in the process, and Jaylen Brown, playing on a torn miniscus for 2months at the time was AGAIN the fall guy even tho the celtics BEST WIN was the 1st game without Tatum when brown had 26 8 12. This BS notion that PP is going to become jalen brunson is laughable at best. I could go on, but as i lay these facts out i keep getting more and more disgusted by what the celtics just did to their ACTUAL best basketball player. This is NOT how you treat him. He didnt even HAVE to be extended RIGHT NOW. He is under contract for THREE more years. Now for TWO of them, Paul george is making Jaylen Brown Money at 36 and 37 years old. Worst Trade in NBA history. Not close.

Chisolm looked in the camera like a clown an said this is about winning😂😂😂😂 well bill…NOBODY HAS WON MORE GAMES IN THE NBA THAN JAYLEN BROWN SINCE JAYLEN BROWN WAS DRAFTED…..10 YEARS AGO.

  22. @Aeus920

    July 9, 2026 at 6:54 pm

It’s not complicated at all JB’s contract with JT’s conttract cripples he team’s flexibility in a couple years vs PG’s contract coming off the books next yr
