When was Walton’s last public appearance? I had no idea he was ill. I’ll miss a renaissance man of basketball.

My best memory with Bill Walton was his love for the Grateful Dead and his colorful commentary for the games from the old Pac 12.

Shocked and saddened to hear this news. Loved watching Bill play and listen to his broadcasts over the years. He was such a free spirit and loved life. I watched all his games with Boston and many of his PAC 12 broadcasts. He was always entertaining. Gone way too soon.

Pregame was so funny with Bill. He had a real character, uniquely diverse from the dullness of today’s commentators and reporters. A man unafraid to show his real self. Rest in peace.

Horrible News. A day after the last pure pac 12 sporting event Bill passes. What a great man who didn’t take like so serious and had a lot of fun. The late night pac 12 games were must see tv when Dave and Bill were on. The internet would blow up late at night with what they were doing. An 8 clap for the great Bill Walton.

OUTSTANDING: The Conference Of Champions. Glad he never got to see UCLA in the Big 10. What is the last great Pac-12 sporting event?? I know the softball tournament is going on now

Working for Pac-12 Network for years, got to see Bill behind the scenes and he was every bit that guy off camera as he was on. He loved basketball and loved sharing that enthusiasm with others. What a legend and a great man

Lifetime Portlander. His enthusiasm ans sarcasim were un matched. Unique. Champion. Made other’s lives better. That is his legacy. I wondered how he would accept the ending of the Conference of Champions. He is definately hanging out with Jerry Garcia, Ron Mckernan, Bret Mydland, John Barlow, Robert Hunter, Keith Godchaux, Maurice Lucas, Jerome Kersey, Bill Schonley and so many more. Will miss his “color” commentary immensly.
