  10. Pelicans Will Rise

The Pelicans should have won this games. Zo has to make better decisions on who should shoot as he made a lot of passes to players, who were open in the 4th period, and they missed wide open 3’s. This happened at least 5 times. During this time, Zo has to make sure the key players get the ball. Ingram should have had more possessions down the stretch. Also as good as JJ is at shooting 3’s, he is a liability on defensive rotations. Defense is a team game and all players have to be locked in against a great scoring team like the Clippers. Gentry should not have had Hart, who is already undersized at the small forward spot, defending Kawhi. Down the stretch when Zo was matched up with Kawhi, Kawhi missed some big shots down the stretch with Zo defending him but they were unable to box out on those misses. The Pelicans had poor rebounding in the 4th and not getting to those hustle balls. I think Gentry has to play Hayes and Favors at the same time instead of going to that small ball. At one point at Gentry had 4 guards out there with Ingram. It made no sense. This is the time the Pelicans lost the game. They had Hart/Moore, Frank, Lonzo, and NAWS with Ingram with Ingram playing center and Zo power forward. What kind of line up is that? Why do the coaching staff of these team still think they are playing the Warriors small ball?
