CP an all time great but he has so many haters man. I’ve seen people say he’s not a top 10 PG and not a top 75 player, which is ridiculous. Man is always disrespected
I wish he gets a ring before it’s over, even if it happens Gary Payton style

@Cole You need some thicker skin if an opinion (based entirely on fact, by the way) is enough to ruin a sport for you.

The true issue is spectators, like yourself, who choose not to uphold the true meaning of “greatness.” For someone to be an “All-Time Great” or a “Generational Talent,” they must be consistently head-and-shoulders above the competition. Chris Paul is an excellent regular season player. There is simply no questioning what he is capable of. The issue is that he does not translate his regular season success into postseason success.

The true “All-Time Greats” get it done when it matters most. They always have and they always will. That’s what separates the “good” from the “great.” For Chris Paul to have such little postseason success in his long NBA career, especially when so much of his shortcomings are his own fault, he has not earned the title of “All-Time Great” when so many other players have overcome much more challenging obstacles and achieved greater results.

The issue is not “people like me.” I call it like it actually is. It’s “people like you” who make it impossible to have these conversations. You don’t base anything on fact or objectivity. You base everything on your feelings, which are feeble and don’t hold up well when questioned. Try holding players to an actual standard of greatness before giving them the title.

@GoGators13  According to your reasoning, John Stockton, Karl Malone, T-Mac, Vince Carter, Reggie Miller, A.I., Russ, and many other players who didn’t ever win a ring aren’t All Time Greats or generational talents. Are you serious? This is not the only metric to judge a player. An All Time Great is determined by his skills and capability on the court, not by his trophies. For example, following your logic, Wilt Chamberlain isn’t a player as great as Bill Russell, because in the same era he didn’t win as many rings as him, but if you think that russell is greater than wilt you’re crearly wrong. Postseason success is not determined only by the capability of a player, but mainly by the Circumstances, that’s for example why LeBron James who’s without a doubt a top 2 player all time has that bad 4-6 in the finals. I’m gonna repeat myself, if Stern doesn’t veto the trade and chris paul goes to the lakers, a waaaay better team than the clippers, the whole narrative changes, he probably wins a ring or two and he is recognized as one of the best PGs all time by everyone. But… he would be the exact same player that it is now, literally nothing changes.
And by the way, I’m not pissed only by your opinion, but by the whole culture of hate that’s ruining the NBA, everyone always gotta compare every single player with someone Better than him, or remind everybody of that one time that he choked, and so on. Man, please just enjoy every great basketball player we can without putting up all this bullshit of “overrated” this and “bum” that, it’s really fucking annoying.

@Cole Facts, hes sounds like a casual fan. The type that only watches during the finals, or looks at stats more than the actual game. Chris Paul is easily one of the best pure PGs to ever lace up. Last of his kind, in a way. Dude can orchestrate a team like no one. Even Lebron, because Chris Paul has always won with less talent. Everywhere hes landed, his teams have been contending underdogs. And he made all those teams better. Clippers, Thunder, and now the Suns. Hes one of those players who can only be appreciated by those who played or know how the game and position is played. Because Chris Paul highlights are a Masterclass for PGs.
