In college he would probably play SF, He can shoot and handle the ball, but for now he doesn’t have the physical stature to play the 4 or 5, unless they’re playing small ball

I think the optimal size for a big man is 6’10”. There seems to be a huge drop off in athleticism for 7 footers and they are much more injury prone. Chet lacks athleticism but he is highly skilled for a high school big man. He’s aggressive in challenging shots. He shows a lot of potential as a rim protector if he can put on some muscle and improve in his ability to slide his feet.

Porzingis was just as skinny as him when he played for the U18 Latvian National team & in Sevilla, Spain. You can become a good player and be skinny at the same time… weight isn’t everything

Wtf??? This guy does NOT deserve to be #1 in the class. It doesn’t even matter if he somehow puts on 35 lbs of muscle. Because even at his current weight of 200 lbs he has nowhere near the mobility and athleticism as guys of a similar archetype like Porzingis, Thon Maker, Bol Bol, etc. He’s already limited in his mobility and athleticism at 200 lbs. How’s he gonna move with 30 lbs of muscle? He’s not very explosive nor does he have a quick first step. He has an awkward gait too, he looks frail and uncomfortable in his body. And he has a hunchback thing going on. I’m not sure if he can add 35 lbs of muscle on that frame.
I don’t see him being a good defender or shot blocker on the next level due to his limitations in strength, athleticism, and movement. Nor do I see him creating his own shot effectively. He could be a spot up shooter but he’s not exactly lights out either, which he better be with all those shortcomings. He’s balling on HS competition because he’s just tall and skilled for his height. Thon Maker looked like a god in high school and he’s barely cracking the league. And Maker was WAY more athletic and mobile than him while being just as skilled (if not more). He’ll get exposed in college. Sorry, I’m just not seeing it with this kid.

I’d say good in my eyes. He has the handles, coordination for a big guy, length (especially wingspan), I’d say it’s just bulking up or gaining s ome weight at this point, even some fat. I’m no dietician or personal trainer, just what I see.
