      It’s a political cartoon done by Benjamin Franklin during the French and Indian war. At the time, the colonists were split over wether or not to join the British (they were still colonies of Britain at this time) in fighting the French and the Native Americans, as those groups had never done to harm the English Colonists. It is meant to symbolize the importance of colonial unity, as the segments were, in the original cartoon, labeled with the initials of the colonies. The title of it is “Join, or Die”
