The reason other teams didn’t pick cam was because of certain medical reasons that were not disclosed and also some reports saying that he was lazy at practice

@King Blingonce he got past pick 10, none of that stuff should’ve mattered. The talent is too great to not take the chance on him IMO. At the very least, he should’ve been the next guard off the board. No way im drafting Grady Dick, Brandin Podziemski or Jaime Jaquez Jr over Cam Whitmore.

@AllDay3004 I think the heats second option for their pick would have been cam but they didn’t draft him because they needed a pf that already had experience rather than another guard

Nobody doubts his talent. Teams doubt his attitude when he doesn’t get guaranteed minutes like in Villanova. He doesn’t work hard in practice. According to sources. Is he gonna pout and throw tantrums if he doesn’t play?

Idk and he’s definitely not starting in Houston unless they bench KPJ

@Lay Lay that was someone else, not cam.

    • Blue

      July 14, 2023 at 9:46 am

@Dre2kClipsthey will bench KPJ but Whitmore won’t start. He’s a SF and both Dillon Brooks and Jaesean Tate are ahead of him on the depth chart. Even if both those guys get injured, the Rockets will start Tari at SF.

    • Dre2kClips

      July 14, 2023 at 11:14 am

      @Blue I doubt they’ll start Tari at the 3 over Cam😂

      “According to sources”

    • Blue

      July 15, 2023 at 2:23 pm

@Dre2kClips Why not? Tari is way better than Cam on both ends of the floor. Tari is the best defender on the team, he’s score efficiently, he can handle the ball a bit, and he got a year more experience so you don’t have to worry as much about him taking bad shots, missing his defensive assignment, or turning the ball over, which are all the main things that prevent young players from getting minutes. Plus, he has great chemistry with Jabari, so ideally, the Rockets would want to give them minutes together. I see no chance that Cam will start at any time this season. He’s got talent, but even in the SL games where he plays well, he commits bad fouls, takes inefficient shots, misses open teammates, and turns the ball over a lot. Do you really think someone like Ime Udoka would start a rookie with those flaws over Tari who has basically no flaws other than that he pouts a little when the Rockets are losing?

I think wemby was the steal and he’ll be on a rookie contract for nice and long

    • Mike OxLong

hmmmm rn i think there are players that are performing way better than wemby rn

    • AGuitarNinja

      July 14, 2023 at 9:34 pm

@Mike OxLong wemby literally has the longest wingspan in the league again on a rookie contract , we’ve only seen two games but as far as value is concerned it’s a no brainer

      July 15, 2023 at 12:55 pm

You literally can’t be a steal as a #1 pick. The point of being a steal is going way later than you should’ve like Shitmore
