Bucks supporting cast is extremely strong, arguably best in the league. Sure Giannis is the best player in the world but Jrue, Middleton and Brook Lopez is a core thats more than capable of competing with Heat. They lost G1 because they had to change their whole game plan after Giannis went down. I expect them to handle business in G2 even if Giannis does not come back. But make no mistake Giannis makes a huge difference. I just don’t think Miami is at the level that Bucks has to rely on Giannis to win.

Grizzlies, for the past 2 years have performed almost identically with Ja on and off the court in almost all categories, offense, defense, +/-, win percentage etc. Unlike Giannis, Ja’s actual impact or value over replacement player is overrated to the moon. He’s like Kyrie, makes spectacular plays but that’s it. You can argue Ja elevates their ceiling a little bit but overall this injury should not change Grizzlies’ outlook too much (which was not great to begin with).

TL;DR: both teams can still win this series despite the injuries. But the Giannis injury hurts Bucks’ title chances, the Ja one does not.

even when giannis was on the court they were down . they were still goin to win if giannis played and herro was on the court too
bucks dint just play well yesterday

It’s obviously Giannis. I know the Heat aren’t gonna shoot that well but Jimmy always ups his game in the Playoffs. I am sure the Heat are confident they can beat Milwaukee.

    • Michael Hession

      April 17, 2023 at 2:37 pm

We also have to take into consideration that Miami is going to be without Tyler Herro for the rest of that series. And he’s the 2nd best scorer. Butler is going to get his usual numbers, but the pressure will be on everyone else to play out of their minds the whole series. Game 1 was a start, but the Heat need to prove that they are not an inconsistent bunch like they’ve been all year especially with Giannis most likely coming back for Game 2.

If the Miami Heat somehow beat the Bucks, not only my Knicks will roll over Cleveland, but we will match much better against the Heat; especially without Tyler Hero! 👍🏽

    • Michael Hession

      April 17, 2023 at 2:54 pm

I don’t think the Heat are winning this series. Giannis is expected to return in Game 2, and the Heat are not shooting 60% for the game both inside and outside the 3-point line for an entire series. And the fact the Bucks had a chance to come back midway in the 4th despite their hot performance shows that I don’t think Milwaukee is dying easily.

Heat would beat Knicks in 6

    • Mr. Absolute Truth

      April 17, 2023 at 3:41 pm

@Brian Jenkins If the Knicks meet the Heat, we will have the home court advantage, we have a much better road record, we have a much deeper bench and we kicked their butts throughout the regular season this year. We will beat them in 5 or 6 games!

    BOSTON vs MILWAUKEE = 2023 East Finals…..book it. ✌🏿

  11. Mr. Absolute Truth

    April 17, 2023 at 2:57 pm

The Bucks and Miami Heat better both watch out, because my Knicks has one of the deepest benches in the NBA and we have one of the best road winning records in the NBA.

    • Michael Hession

      April 17, 2023 at 4:02 pm

The Bucks match up better against the Knicks than they would with the Heat. Don’t be fooled by the Coach Bud Special of losing Game 1.

What people have to realize Giannis is a force he go charging the lane and everybody get out his way but Miami has Kevin Love and Kyle Lowry who was stepping there and get that charge cause Giannis to hurt himself

    • Mahmoud

      April 17, 2023 at 3:50 pm

Yeah that’s why imo the restricted zone should be bigger. Charge defense in the paint is really dangerous. Just look at yesterday we lost 2 stars because of it

Weren’t the bucks supposed to be done last year against the bulls? And against the hawks?

  19. Brandon Massey

    April 17, 2023 at 4:41 pm

Why does ESPN have a constant need to compare one thing against the other? These two injuries have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Who spends time creating segments like this and who greenlights them?

  20. Tyler k

    April 17, 2023 at 5:34 pm

First off enough with this narrative that Grizzlies were winning with JA playing. Lmao they weren’t Lakers were in comtrol of the game and were the better team in almost every way even when JA was out there. Grizzlies weren’t winning the series regardless of a healthy JA. So enough. It’s obviously Giannis as bigger concern bc the heat had no shot against a healthy bucks. Now with the Giannis injury the heat have a legitimate chance to win this series.

    April 17, 2023 at 6:46 pm

How can Stephen A smith say the lakers probably would of lost that game when they were up when ja got hurt that doesn’t make any sense and especially when he got that charge

  23. Elemental Light

    April 18, 2023 at 2:19 am

No team can win a playoff series if their superstar is not playing. Both Bucks and Memphis will lose their series without Giannis and Ja.

No Giannis easy win for the Heat this series is over
