Austin is like a reverse mirror image of Alex Caruso, another undrafted over-achiever–same height, sneaky athleticism, better offense (Caruso a better defender), high basketball IQ, hustle, humility with a healthy dose of (growing) confidence. My Lakers better not be a stupid cheapie and let him go like they did with Caruso; the same goes for the emerging young core with Rui, Vanderbilt, et al. Experience should have taught them not to go with the “We MUST have another ‘Superstar'” mentality (rather than building on team chemistry and cohesion) or to let Lebron play GM again (no Kyrie just because they’re buddies—dude is cancer and a serial team killer (Cleveland, Boston, Brooklyn, Dallas*)–don’t let yourself be victim #5! Razzle-dazzle handles and (sometimes spectacular) shot-making don’t make a winner by themselves–basketball at the NBA level is a TEAM game, no some pickup or one-on-one streetball.

*(Granted only for a 1/3 season, but it’s also undisputed the Mavs team and play got worse after he arrived, dropping from a 5 seed to being out of the play in, and if he demands a max in the off-season and they give it to him, that will then kill the team’s prospects for the foreseeable future unless they win the Wemby sweepstakes (please don’t let that happen). And I don’t think Luka likes playing with Kyrie, either–he only “misses Brunson a lot.” I have no sympathy for Mark Cuban, who as the most over-rated bad (and secretly cheap–he doesn’t wanna pay lux tax ever) owner of the NBA is to blame for the Mavs’ catastrophic season more than Kyrie, compared to the 3 previous other teams that Kyrie abandoned.)

Austin Reaves will be one of the keys to the Lakers winning their 18th Title this season surpassing the Celtics.

Why do they imitate injecting heroin after making a shot? Is that the connotation – that they’re shooting good or something??
