I look at the stats… His rookie stats is the best vs Wemby, Castle, Kyrie, Cade, and Harden. Also the best rookie stats among the 2025 draft picks esp considering his limited minutes. The coaching malpractice of Mitch Johnson for not giving him more minutes is unforgivable!!!

It’s crazy how people tend to appraise his father on how he plays but really it’s his mother that taught him everything about playing basketball.

*”Look at this Euro right here…I mean somewhere in San Antonio Manu Ginobili is shaking his head…”*
*_Correction: Somewhere in San Antonio Manu is smiling & applauding DHarp._*
*_’San Antonio Spurs rookie guard Dylan Harper has embraced a mentorship with franchise legend Manu Ginobili whose been teaching the 20yo lefty how to impact the game creatively… Ginobili also helps Harper adapt to the speed of the NBA compared to FIBA play and assists him in keeping his focus sharp off the court.’_*
*The Spurs legends all have enough money to spend their days on a beach somewhere, but they all **_choose_** to mentor the next generation. Spurs culture is special. People complain that the team has gotten some lucky draft picks, which is certainly true, but they have also managed to (mostly) retain those stars in the player empowerment era. Young and promising players must feel a strong reason to stay in San Antonio thanks to the continuing mentorship.*
*The culture of respect, honesty, and leadership makes these guys proud to be Spurs for life.*
*_It’s always about the name on the front, not the back._*
*_DHarp is going to be so good at catching bats!_* 🦇🤍🖤

Kid is young kobe 2.0.
The comparisons between his first year and Kobe’s are striking.
Both hungry to prove themselves, both came off the bench, both excelled in the playoffs y1 in limited bursts.
Both argued about playing time because they knew how good they were and no one else did.
Both similar size. Similar basketball IQ (we all know Kobe was a genius off the court too).
Both showed precocious maturity in the game (if not the person in Kobe’s case), years ahead of where a rookie should be.
Both fearless. Young Kobe had a reckless disregard for his own safety attacking the rack that he made up for mostly with genius and raw athleticism, Harper does it with a more overt, calculating nature, picking the right angles to attack, contorting his body through space etc.
If anything Harper is ahead at the same point, showing a solid 2-way game that year 1 Kobe didn’t have yet.
I’m telling y’all.
Harper about to have a breakout season and make those parallels obvious.
