The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 105-98, in Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals Presented by YouTube TV, to take a 2-0 series lead. Jrue Holiday led the Celtics with 26 points (11-14 FG), 11 rebounds and 0 turnovers, while Jaylen Brown added 21 points and 7 assists. Jayson Tatum (18 points on 6-22 FG, 12 assists, 9 rebounds) and Derrick White (18 points, 5 rebounds) totaled 36 points for Boston. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 32 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, while P.J. Washington (17 points, 7 rebounds) and Kyrie Irving (16 points, 6 assists) totaled 33 points.

This marks the ninth straight win this postseason for Boston and the first time in this year’s Playoffs the Mavericks have lost back-to-back games.

Game 3 will take place in Dallas on Wednesday, June 12 (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC/ESPN).

    Everyone saying that Boston should win this or they choked. Everyone also saying the Mavs are going to win this series. Boston has a 14-2 playoff record this postseason.
